Eclipse Card

I have never tried making a sentiment eclipse card and thought I'd give it a try. I used my new Spellbinders embossing folder, a lot of ink blending with Distress Oxides and then the LOVE die from Simon Says Stamp. I learned that it is better to die cut before embossing.

I popped up the letters with dimensional tape and rubbed them with some gold gilding wax, and added a few tiny gold heart embellishments.

Cold As Ice

Challenge #760/1/2  at Allsorts has an option to create a project

"Cold as Ice" ❄❅❆     or Anything Goes.

Prizes from AALL and Create and Craft Stash

For some time I have wanted to make a little box fold card.  It folds flat into an A2 size and is pretty cute.  I used Flora and Fauna stamps for the images and sentiment. My icebergs were heat embossed with silver on vellum and then colored with Copic blue on the back. The igloo was cut with a Flora and Fauna die using matt silver card and then glued to vellum. The trees are die cuts from Gina K Designs. A funny little card, but my grandchildren will love it.

Daisy Ornament

I have been painting glass ornaments again this year. Last year I did quite a few snowy scenes on glass for friends as Christmas gifts, the year before I painted dozens of blue glass baubles for a P.E.O. fundraiser.  So once again we will be selling some hand-painted glass ornaments and vases at our next big fundraiser.  This a a brand new design and I have made two dozen so far and another two dozen to go.  Each daisy stands for one of P.E.O.'s seven founders.  It a a wonderful organization that provides grants. scholarships, and loans to women for furthering their education.

Happy Happy Happy

Good Morning!

It's my Design team week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and I managed to dig out some supplies in the craft room that has been taken over by wrapping and gift projects. The designer paper is from my scrap box and was a part of a Simon Says Stamp kit quite a while back.  The embossing folder is among the first I ever acquired (perhaps 25 years ago!) and the sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set, That little circle border is a MFT die.

Time to replenish the birthday card stock!

Hope you will find some time to play along this week.

A Wintry Kiss

Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge #636

The  optional theme this week is 'Bundle Up.'  This did inspire me to pull out the sweet My Favorite Things set, Winter Kisses, because she is all decked out in a warm outfit.

I rotated the sketch. I cut a number of white snowflakes and adhered them to the small panel and then sprayed silver shimmer spray over it all. I did the same with a plain piece of white card for the horizontal strip. The back panel was embossed with a Swiss dots folder. I cut up the sentiment to fit a tiny tag and added a few pink heart embellishments.

The girl was colored with Copics and die cut with the coordinating die. I used foam tape to pop the snowflake panel and also her figure on top of that. The tag was popped as well. It's so much more sparkly in person.  A photo lightbox is on my Christmas list. I hope Santa is listening :-)

Please check out the rest of the team creations HERE and join the challenge!  We love visiting and seeing your creations.

Holiday Slimline

Good Morning!

Monday morning means a new sketch at

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and this week it is a slimline card.        I rarely make full sized slimline cards, but this was a fun create.

My Design Team card used Holiday Flora embossing folder by Gina K Designs rubbed with some Lunar Paste and Guilding wax.  The floral is from Spellbinder's Small die of the month.

The gold embossed sentiment is from an Altenew set, Festive Poinsettia. I embossed the fold of the envelope to match.

Hope to see you at AHSC this week!

Fancy This

Good Morning!

Time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday.

My inspiration card for you uses some pretty paper given to me by a crafting buddy and I have stenciled Gina K Designs Fancy Floral layering stencil and used coordinating die. It was inked with Light Lilac, Medium Lilac, Jelly Bean Green and Asparagus. I added some pencil highlights. The white embossed sentiment is from Gina K Fancy Phrases set.

Faux Stitching

The new challenge theme today at Allsorts #757 is STITCHING ~ REAL OR FAUX

My DT card is all faux stitching with a cover plate from Concord & 9th Geometric Quilt Top Dies, stitched circle dies, stamps with stitching elements from CTMH, sentiment from Gina K Designs. Stitching dies are all the rage right now, but I have yet to try it.  I expect there will be some stunning projects to see this week.  Hope you will check them out and join in the challenge fun.

Prizes this week come from AALL and Create who still have some fabulous bargain to be had, lots of stamps and stencils are half price or less but you need to be quick as the sale will be over very soon.

Colors of Winter

Allsorts challenge #756 - with Colors of Winter option selected by design teammate Sarah.

Marvelous prizes this week come from AALL and Create who still have some fabulous bargains to be had, lots of stamps and stencils are half price or less but you need to be quick as the sale will be over very soon.

Winter has so many 'outfits' that is is very difficult to choose. My favorites are any shade of blue with white and something shiny.

My card came about because I just acquired a foiling machine and discovered some acetate transfer sheets purchased about two years ago. I don't believe I understood how to use them at the time. Now I've figured it out!  So I foiled the Merry Christmas and placed some patterned paper that had gold stars and dots behind the acetate. I cut an oval aperture from a piece of sea glass card stock and splattered it with white paint and added lots of tiny gold star sequins.

Looking forward to seeing lots of lovely wintry creations on the Allsorts blog!  Hope you will take a look and join the fun.

Pine

Inspired by a sketch at Paper Craft Crew, and going through all my Christmas themed papers hoping to use a few more of them.  This patterned paper was from a long-ago Close To My Heart collection that I have loved. Must have bought several packs and there is just a bit left now.  The die is Flora & Fauna, inked blended a bit and splattered with white acrylic. A Darice embossing folder was used on the white panel.

Winter Trees

A marvelous sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday!  The optional twist is 'trees' and I was excited to use a new Gina K Designs silhouette set - Winter Terrain.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, Joyful Season. I ink blended, splattered with white paint, and fussy cut the bottom horizontal piece.

There are some beautiful cards from the rest of the design team at TSOT.

Sure hope you will join the challenge!

Santa Comes to Town

New at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week!

My card uses a fun background stamp from My Favorite Things, City Block, that I cut up for the sections of the sketch and adhered it to a black panel.

The Santa and reindeer are from MFT's Happy, Ho-Ho Holidays set. I colored them with Copics and cut with the coordinating dies. The sentiment is from that set as well.

Hope you will join the challenge!

Debossed Tag

While finishing up two knitting projects, I tuned into You tube for some crafty inspiration. Lots of talented folks out there making tags and tag cards for holidays.  Recently, I tried the ink-blending and black with a three-D embossing folder.  But yesterday I saw two videos using the de-bossed side. You emboss the tag, then ink blend, then direct-to-paper swipe with the black ink pad.  It's magic!  Fast, easy. You don't even need to be very perfect with colors as they are covered with the black. This was super fun to do.  You can see one version here with Micelle from Altenew:

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4fcskBYSA

I used a new Spellbinders folder Meandering Floral, inked with Altenew Spring Floral ink cube set, and swiped with Versafine black.  The sentiment from a Gina K set was heat embossed.

Silver & White

The new challenge at Sketch Saturday #739

My design team card for the sketch features some poinsettia die cuts from Spellbinders, some matt silver and grey card, and a white heat embossed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.used a Gina K embossing folder on the grey panel and then rubbed it with some silver gilding wax. I struggled to get the photo to show the pretty shine on this card. Thinking I should try to build a light box...

The rest of the team has some beautiful cards for inspiration on the blog.  Hope you will check it out and join the challenge.

Embossing

A Z-fold card that was heat embossed and painted with metallic watercolors.  The stamps are from an older Hero Arts stamp & die set with a sentiment from Gina K Designs.  The label was cut with an Altenew Nesting Labels die.

Three Trees

Christmas is the theme for challenge #755 at Allsorts!

with prizes from Stampendous and Oakwood Direct and WOWVOW

My card uses some wonderful dies, Ornamental Trees,  from Gina K Designs. The sentiment from her Feeling Frosty set.  It is such a pretty font and I love that it has a coordinating die. I made LOTS of them and this is the sentiment on nearly all my holiday cards!  I'm either batching well or very lazy :-)

This is a simple design and easy to put together. Perfect when you need LOTS of cards to mail.
