Baby Girl

One of my P.E.O. sisters had a baby girl this month.  Our chapter consists of mostly older women, so this is a rare and exciting event for us.  I had been saving this piece of patterned paper for quite a while and was happy to be able to use it today to make a card.  I used Gina K's Fluttering Fall stencils and dies, MFT stitched square and a border punch. The sentiment comes from Altenew.

I have used Paper Craft Crew sketch #441 for the design.

Raking Leaves

A CAS Colours & Sketches inspired card.  After a long day trimming and digging in the yard, I also had to rake some leaves...oh, it begins!!  The stamps are both from Riley & Co., stamped with Barn Red and colored with my Copic markers. I did a light ink blend for sky and ground.  A quick and simple one layer card - hope it makes you chuckle.

Boo!

Good Morning! Time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday.

It feels like time to start some autumn cards as the temperatures are cooler and the vegetable garden offering up lots of canning opportunities.

I had a bit of fun with some papers from my stash, die cuts from MFT and Tim Holtz Halloween Hangouts, and a heat embossed sentiment from a very old CTMH set.  The ghost is on a wobbly and is great to play with!

Get some crafty time this week and link up with us at Sketch Saturday. We'd love to visit your site and see what you created with sketch #675.

CAS Christmas

The challenge at AAA Cards is to use a 1" strip with an optional of a colored card base.

My strip is just less than 1" so I could cut a true 1" in red to back it. I stamped the Simon Says background stamp ( 2019 Leaves and Berries) with Whisper ink on Fog card stock, colored with Copics, and did the berries with Nuvo drops.  The sentiment is from a mini Pretty Pink Posh set.  I also stamped the fold on the envelope with green ink.

Butterflies

Trying many variations of color with the Fluttering Fall stencil bundle from Gina K.

These layering stencils are really wonderful to use!  And having the dies to go with makes it so easy to create lots of looks. The while panel was dry embossed with a Simon Says butterfly stencil which is very difficult to see in the photo. It's very subtle.  The sentiment comes from the stamp set which is part of the Gina K bundle as well. The gingham paper is from MFT, and embellishment with Sweet Lilac Crystal drops from Nuvo.

The card is inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #500 Celebrate their 500th sketch!!

Autumn Blessings AHSC #435

Good Morning, Monday!  Time for a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and my Design Team inspiration card.

The weather turned quite chilly here in the past few days, and as I begin the freezing/canning process for the garden, I'm made brutally aware that summer is on the wane.  It has just recently edged up with autumn as my favorite season, so I'm a bit sad but ready for the soup and gorgeous colors of fall.

I played all day yesterday with my new set Absolutely Autumn from    Gina K and used some of my new Master Layout dies as well.  The ink and colored card stock are CTMH, colored with alcohol markers - combo of Copics and Altenew artist markers.

Hoping you will get crafty this week and link up at AHSC so we can see!

Friend

This black and white card inspired by several challenges.

I stamped the MFT friendship background through Altenew's Floating Drops stencil. This is a mini-slim line card. The sentiment is from an older and very well-loved set 'Friendships are Forever' from My Creative Time.

I'm sending this to a friend who listened to me fuss about something and then sent an absolutely wonderful note. So full of kindness, caring, and understanding♥

Had great fun today making this card using Ranger Glitter Gel, a stencil, and new die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. Once dry, I cut down the stenciled panel and adhered it to a piece of shiny gold card stock which matched the card used for the sentiment die.  The inside, heat embossed in gold, says "Congratulations on your graduation" - a sentiment stamp from an Altenew Paint-a-Flower set.

Slimline

Don't you love organizing/cleaning a craft bin and finding things not used for a while?  These sweet fruit dies are quite old - among the first when I discovered die cutting. ♥

Inspired by sketch #432 at CAS Colours & Sketches (see below), I used the Provo Craft find with a Mama Elephant sentiment die.  The fruit was cut with several colors of card stock and pieced as an inset.

Colors matched up with Paper Craft Crew #439 color challenge.

Black and White

My design team inspiration card for challenge #673 at Sketch Saturday

I saw a fascinating gel press video using only black and white paints with stencils...so I tried it. I am very new at gel press, and so there is a lot of paper in the recycle! I was not able to recreate the double print done in the video, but the one on used on the main panel was pretty cool. The chevron patterned paper, sentiment, and embellishments are from my CTMH stash. I cut the balloon with a Paper Smooches die and colored it with a shimmer pen.

We Need Glasses

Needed some funny birthday cards and was inspired by CAS on Sunday challenge to use tiny images...but life got busy and I missed the link up deadline for them. But here are my cards which I had great fun making with tiny images from Essentials by Ellen set Mini Voices in My head. I also used a really cute alphabet set that I've had for years for the card front sentiment. Inside is another image from the EL set, a birthday greeting from a Simon Says Stamp set, and my own handwriting. (See why I buy stamps?!lol) I colored the glasses with alcohol markers and then covered each with Glossy Accents.  The card panels and flag were cut with Gina K Master Layout sets.

Along the Edge

The challenge at AAA Card Challenge has been on my mind but summer activities have taken up a lot of crafting time.  Beans, berries, squash picked today after a second crop plant of arugula and beets...so it seems only fair I get to be crafty inside this afternoon.

I dry embossed with a Simon Says stencil, and then did a little ink blending before removing it.  The sentiment is also Simon Says, stamped in poppy red.  I used my shimmer pen on the berries and the sentiment, and an older Martha Stewart border punch and popped it with some foam tape.  This is my first Christmas card for the year!
