Imagine

Challenge #207 at  AAA Cards is for a NO layer card + the option to use a BIG sentiment.

The sentiment here comes from an older Close To My Heart set that I put in the give away box and then pulled it out again because I just wasn't ready to part with it.

CAS (Clean and Simple) requires lots of 'white' space. But the unadorned space needn't be white.  I used metallic watercolors to brush a rough rainbow on heavy black card base, and once dry I heat embossed the sentiment in white.  I love the sparkle behind this positive saying- a mindset I really need right now.

#Best Birthday Ever

What fun I had with my new Brutus Monroe stencil, Make A Wish! I masked off the top of my card and inked up using Gina K Innocent Pink, Wild Dandelion. and Sweet Mango inks. I stamped the party hat in Wild Dandelion and then colored in the alternating stripes with Copics to closely match the pink before outlining with my fine-point black pen and fussy cutting. The sentiments stamped are from the same set as the hat, CTMH's Wise Guy Birthday. I used a ruler and drew a line under the stenciled candles and popped up the hat with some foam and added a sparkle to the top.

The card was inspired by (and is linked to) three challenges: CAS Colours & Sketches #454,             Hand Stamped Sentiments #381 Color Challenge, and Allsorts #661 Use a stencil.

Winsome Blooms

Good Morning,

Time to share some inspiration for Sketch Saturday #633. The challenge will go for two weeks.  I hope you will join us!  Link your project here.

My card used papers from my stash, a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp May 2020 Kit, Beautiful Butterflies and floral image colored in Copics from Altenew's mini Delight set, Winsome Blooms.

XOXO

Used some papers from my stash, a few background stamps, Gina K Peach Bellini ink, two heart dies from Simon Says Stamp, Fine Alphabet die from Altenew, and a shimmer pen to create my card.  It was inspired by sketch #641 at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Marbled Birthday

Using sketch #575 from The Paper Players and the inspiration to 'marble it up' at Beyond the Blue Challenges, and linking to Use Your Stuff embossing challenge #440, too.

My grandson adores the shaving cream marbling. He's 4 and we had so much fun playing together with this technique.  It was great to be reminded of it at Beyond the Blue.

For the sketch I trimmed down the marbling quite a bit and added a heat embossed sentiment and the bottom panel was dry embossed with Divine Swirl. I added a few yellow sequins.

Waddle I ever do without you

Love the sketch collaboration at Double Trouble and Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  The Double Trouble challenge was to use three patterned papers and the twist to include a penguin.  My penguin stamps are fairly limited, but my new Gina K set is cute and I tried to turn this into a Valentine with pinks and purples.

I've been reorganizing and sorting stash of patterned paper scraps recently and that made it much easier to find a few that coordinated ( I think all three were originally from Close To My Heart).  I colored the penguin with alcohol markers, used a Simon Says Stamp die set to cut some additional hearts. Gina K Master layouts to cut the rectangular panels and mats, and fussy cut the sentiment. Ribbon is from my ancient Stampin'Up stash and tiny hearts embellishments are Sprinkletz Sweethearts from Buttons Galore & More. This will be my granddaughters Valentine card - I bought some cute fuzzy socks that have the same colors.

A Friend Like You

Happy Monday!

New sketch #457 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

My design team card will go to a special friend. We have known each other for 43 years and call each other 'sis'  I used a piece of paper from my scrap bin for the background. It's shiny and has some subtle stripes. Originally I was going to try a white on white for this card...but it needed something.

I used Altenew Slim Deco Cover die, Altenew Retro Plantines stamp and die set along with Simon Says Stamp Eucalyptus Leaves die. The sentiment comes from Gina K's Bitty Botanicals Mix set. The Deco cover die was cut three times and stacked for dimension. I heat embossed the image and sentiment with Nuvo Platinum embossing powder.

Nothing more difficult to photograph properly than shiny gold...

Thanks

My card for Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch #538.

I've used some older Close to My Heart paper scraps and a Mini-Delight stamp and die set called Winsome Bloom from Altenew.  I colored the flower and leaves with alcohol markers. The center panel and blossom are popped up with dimension tape.

Love

When I saw the sketch for Sunday Stamps #274, I knew right away I wanted to make an easel card, and some lovely papers on my desk seemed right for a Valentine.  I die cut several layers of the letters to stack them for the 'ledge' inside using a Simon Says Stamp die set. Then added some sparkly embellishments.  Easels are just the easiest of interactive cards and fun to make.

I am also linking to Allsorts Challenge #659 Add a Heart  and TIME Out Challenge #205 In Love

Stuck On You♥

Last minute post to Freshly Made Sketches.  I use these sketches every week and so often miss the deadline!

My card used a 3-D texture embossing folder that I just purchased. I embossed on kraft. The images from Flora & Fauna were stamped with a bit of masking on the center cactus, and colored with Copics. I cut the circle and then added the tiny strip of red to ground it all and accent the tiny heart.

Hello Friend

Trying to get back in blog posting regularly for challenges!

At Try Stampin On Tuesday there are always good sketches to get the mojo started.  Last night I cleaned out a drawer full of 6x6 samples of CTMH patterned papers.  I separated them into color families and started putting them in my hanging files.  Truthfully, they often just go there to be forgotten...but I saved out a bunch that just went nicely together.  And I used them on this card.  With one cut for a 'grass' border, another for 'dirt', another for sky and a sheet I fussy cut for some flowers.  The sentiment is from a new to me Gina K designs set.

I'm working on another grouping for TSOT #538...will post later.

How have you been?

Welcome to the New Year of challenges at Sketch Saturday.  The challenge blog will be bi-weekly for 2022.  Gives you more time to craft up some goodness with the sketch and link up!

Sketch # 692 will run through January 28th.  There is a prize of a $10 gift certificate to Riley & Co. for the top pick of the challenge.

I've used some patterned paper from my CTMH stash and cut the squares with a My Favorites Things die set.  The stamps and sentiment are from Gina K Designs

Birthday for AHSC #455

Monday means another great sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I've used some papers from my CTMH stash - this 2012 Claire collection was a favorite, and I've now used all but a tiny piece. I just love the colors! Do you hoard patterned paper?

I made the card base with Outdoor Denim and die cut the front panel. To get the diagonal shown in the sketch, I had to angle it and got a neat triangle to use on the inside for a pocket.  I fussy cut the flowers and arranged them on the circle.  The sentiment is from CTMH, Wise Guy Birthday set.

I hope you will get crafty and join us this week. Link up here at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge
