Winter Butterfly

The last challenge of the year at Allsorts will run for two weeks. #708/9 theme comes from Brenda

***  CAS  ***    (Clean And Simple)

There will be three prizes drawn for this challenge: Highlight Crafts and AALL & Create

and three images from Ruth Hamilton Design

My card uses Ruth Hamilton's Winter Butterfly image which is a stunning design! I printed it and water colored with Zig Clean Watercolor markers, and then splattered with white. The stitched squares were cut with My Favorite Things dies. The grey paper and background woodgrain stamp are CTMH. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

Hoping you will join the challenge and wishing you a very Merry & Bright holiday.

                                                                   See you again in 2023!

A Wonderful Day

Sketch Saturday challenge #716 begins today.

With all the focus on holiday cards, I found that my birthday stash was seriously depleted.  CTMH        Oh, Deer! paper pack was still on my desk and also two brand new unused Mini Delight stamp & die sets from Altenew, so I created a card using them all along with two oval punches. CTMH inks used are Sea Glass and Fern.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you will join the challenge at Sketch Saturday.

O Christmas Tree

Pauline has chosen the theme this week for Allsorts #707

                *** A/G with Option of "O Christmas Tree" ***

There are two lovely prizes for this challenge: an A5 stamp set and a Woodware set

My inspiration for you is a fun Z Fold scene card.  (very difficult to photograph).  The trees and stars from Simon Says Stamp Clean Line Christmas were stamped with Versamark and gold heat embossed, then I hand cut the trees.  Sentiment from paper Smooches Christmas Sampler is gold embossed on the inside. I free hand cut the white 'snow' band.  And used some gold metallic paint to edge the inside white portion.

My photography skills are not up to this dimensional card.  There is another tree on the inside across from the sentiment. Too cute in person.

Hope you will join the challenge!

Warm Wishes

The new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge today!

My Design Team inspiration for you is a card that will be a winter birthday card for a friend just after Christmas.

The paper is from CTMH Oh Deer! set (retired); the pine bough is a Flora & Fauna die.  I have no idea where I got the pine cone die. The sentiment is from the CTMH Frosted set (retired) stamped in Fern ink on a Decorative Tag from Gina K Designs. All tied up with some twine ribbon and splattered with white paint for some snowy feel.

Hope you will join us!

Christmas Stockings

'A Very Silly Season' set from Gina K Designs is delightful!  Cute images and cheeky sentiments. Just right for cards and tags for family and friends.  I  used the stamps and coordinating dies from the set on my card today.  Stencil is small brick wall from My Favorite Things. The patterned paper and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp.

I was inspired by Double D Challenge- 'Christmas Stocking' and Freshly Made Sketches #565

and inside...

Let It Snow

Lolo's theme for the new challenge at Allsorts #706 is

***Anything Goes/ Let it Snow ***

There are two prizes from Oakwood - a  Stampendous stamp and 2 stencils

My inspiration card for you is a Hanukkah card made for a dear friend.  I used some printed paper for the background and silver heat embossed a snowflake from the recent Gina K Designs Blizzard set. The sentiment is a pre-printed strip.

Plaid Christmas

The new sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday has an option of using plaid.  That's a look I thought would be really pretty for a Christmas card and I had just the scrap to use!

I cut several of the trees from Gina K Designs Wonderland die set from white and mat gold to stack up.  As I've done before, I used the negative cut as a stencil, and did a little ink blending with CTMH inks for some trees in the background.  That small piece was edged with metallic gold paint and matted on a piece of charcoal textured card. The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Holiday Greetings Mix I was gold heat embossed.

Check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design team at TSOT and join us there. We love visiting and seeing what you've created!

Snow on the Way

Good morning and welcome to a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!

Sketch #715 - with a suggestion to 'include some snow'

So I did that. Embossed  Gina K Tranquil Teal with a snowflakes folder and then brushed the top with some white pigment ink. The right side was embossed with Falling Dots folder and then sprayer with a Shimmer Spritz. Snowflakes were cut several times with Savvy Snowflakes dies and stacked. The top of each stack was cut from glimmer card stock and then sprayed with spritz and sprinkled with crystal coarse glitter.  The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set.

Beginning to Look Like Christmas

Allsorts #705 challenge theme: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

My design team inspiration for you uses the Center Cut Holiday Floral stamp from Simon Says Stamp. The image was stamped in Versamark and embossed with gold, then I masked a portion and stamped/embossed again. The image was water colored, stamped with a very pale grey ink using an antique script stamp from CTMH, and splattered with white and gold metallic. The sentiments are from Holly Days, a Hero Arts stamp and die set. I edged the water colored panel and sentiments with gold metallic watercolor and adhered all with foam tape to a Grey fog card base.

There are 2 prizes of Card-io stamp sets for winners of this week's challenge! I hope you will join us at Allsorts!

Stencil Fun

It's a new challenge week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and my inspiration card for you used a lovely floral stencil from Gina K Designs.  To get the overlapping circles from the sketch, I moved the stencil several times. I used Gina K Carnation inks to blend the floral piece and the sentiment from Gina's Flowing Florals set was heat embossed and popped up with foam tape. Before adhering the sentiment, I masked the card base and sprayed with Shimmer Sparkle.

The design team cards will post at AHSC on Wednesday.  Hope you will get crafty and join us!

Santa Sends His Best

New challenge week Allsorts #704.  Ellie's theme this week is

***A/G with Option of Wings and/or Tails***

The prizes this week ALL and Create A5 size stamp set Follow Your Own Path and three images from Ruth Hamilton Design.

My reindeer have tails...and are flying! lol

The images and sentiment are from My Favorite Things set Happy Ho-Ho Holidays. I stamped, colored with alcohol markers and used coordinating dies to cut. The sky was blended with Distress Oxides, water sprinkled and gel pen dots. The snow banks were just hand cut. This is a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 " slim line card.

I am away from home on a crafting retreat and forgot my camera...so there is some photo quality issues as light is poor and the phone just doesn't do very well. Sorry about that. May add in a new shot when I get home since this turned out so cute.

Got some better pictures at home

Please join this fun challenge!

TSOT w/ Double Trouble =FUN

Try Stampin' On Tuesday's new sketch with some really fun options! AND We will be partnering with Double Trouble again for this one. Here are their challenge details:

Thing 1:  Trouble Maker
says, " Thing 1:  Trouble Maker
says, "Wow! We missed National Trail Mix Day. Trail Mix, aka GORP (a mix of certain cereals, nuts, pretzels, raisins, dried fruits, M&Ms, etc.).  Sounds yummy, but we have a yummy trail mix for Scrapper's GORP.

"Do you remember way back years ago when you didn't mix plaids, stripes, checks, flowers and polka dots. Not true today... This is our recipe for Scrapper's GORP.  Look through your stash for stamps, stencils, patterned papers, washi tape, etc., to find at least two or more of the ingredients in our Scrapper's Gorp and include them on your project... it's your choice of ingredients."

You may OPT to use Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch to the right - or not, but this is a perfect sketch for our Scrapper's GORP and if you use this sketch you will earn two chances in our random draw.

You can stop here...
OR
Play with Twisted Sister's optional twist below to earn another chance in our random draw.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister
says, "I love mixing patterns.  You'll find me in a polka dot striped Shirt, floral pants and a plaid hat.  There are so many things that I have to mix and piece together.

"Have you ever tried paper piecing technique? It can be a lot of fun!  Here is a YouTube tutorial that may help you with this technique MFT Tips & Tricks - Paper  Piecing.  Include an image(s) and show us your piecing skills.

Optional Twist:  If you have included paper piecing in your project you will earn another chance in our Random Draw.

Thing 2:  Double Dare
says, "If you have met Thing 1's requirement 'Scrapper's Gorp, and used the TSOT's sketch, with or without piecing, you are eligible to enter your project HERE  at Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #584 for an additional chance at our random draw.

Well, I had a very fun time. Though, instead of stamping an image and paper piecing, I cut shapes of scraps to create a house using the vertical shape on the sketch. I adhered the cut scraps to an piece of card stock cut to that shape, then added free-hand cut chimney, door and windows. I colored in the white trees on the scraps for each side, and stamped a holly leaf and berries on the door. It was all popped up with foam tape on a front panel embossed with the Falling Dots folder. (hard to see in the photo) Snow on the chimney was added with a white gel pen and on the window 'shutters.'
A Christmas sentiment is on the inside.

Hope to see your creations linked up at TSOT and Double Trouble!

                                                                   Happy Crafting!

Holidays and Candy Canes

 Good Morning!

New challenge today at Sketch Saturday #714

I set about making my card and then when assembling the image just really needed to be on the other side...so I've flipped the sketch. The back panels are papers from Kringle & Co. The image and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp, Gift of Christmas set.

I hope you will join the challenge. I enjoy visiting your blogs and it's always fun to see how you interpret the sketch.

Winter Trees

I am happy to host the new theme challenge at Allsorts this week! My choice is:

***Anything Goes with Option of Trees/ Leaves ***

The winners will receive a store voucher from WOWVOW (they cannot ship outside of UK)
or this wonderful stencil (which can be shipped overseas)

There are some beautiful projects from the Design Team on the Allsorts blog. Please check them out and join the challenge there.  I look forward to visiting your links and seeing all your creations.

My card used Winter Wonderland dies from Gina K Designs. I used the negative space to do some stenciling of trees on my oval ink blended piece before adhering the other pieces. I added some shimmer pen to the two trees in the foreground and a bit along the top of the snow bank that I free cut at the bottom.  The oval frame was cut with an Altenew die, and the stitched oval from Gina K.  The gold embossed sentiment is from Joyful Season, a SSS set.
