Playing with Alcohol Inks

Last night I got out the Yupo paper and a few newer bottles of ink I hadn't tried yet...I made a big mess, and had fun!  For some reason, it was still tacky this morning. That was perfect for adding some foil highlights last night, but now I have tried the heat gun, and they still aren't really dry.  The Yupo paper doesn't cut well with the dies either. But I managed to create some cards.

The large leaf on the left was cut from textured card stock with Simon Says Stamp Large Stitched Maple die. I placed the alcohol piece behind the opening, and adhered it all to a cream card.

I've seen many of these leaf cuts showing pattern in the cut out. They really are a beautiful way to showcase papers, homemade or not!

Cut one leaf out of the center...then popped it with some foam tape. The other two didn't cut through, so I hand trimmed around. The sentiment was heat embossed with gold. This was a design I saw on Pinterest, but apparently didn't save so I am not able to give proper credit for the inspiration.

AHSC #339 Thanksgiving

Atlantic Hearts #339 new sketch!  I love this sketch. It was so fun to bring together a number of fun products. I used a marvelous background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, inked up with Creole Spice Kaleidacolor ink pad, Stampin' Up ribbon from my stash, cut and embossed leaves from Momenta dies on some watercolor paper smooshed with the same ink pad, stamped and cut some wheat from a Papertrey set, used the same set for the sentiment heat embossed in gold, added in a few solid leaves cut from card stock with Lawn Fawn stitched leaves dies, and added some sparkle with a gold paper cut leaf from Tim Holtz Skeleton Leaves die, and a few dots of Liquid Pearls.  My desk is a disaster...but the card is just as I hoped♥

Grateful for You

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #337 begins today.
No photo description available.
My card used some older Close To My Heart patterned paper, a CTMH long-retired stamp set and some Distress Oxide inks.
I daubed color on the leaves and random stamped them on the paper. I splattered, and cut the piece down to adhere to the 5.5x4.25" piece of card stock.  I cut the burlap ribbon into a flag, and tied with cord and a tiny sentiment and tag from a new Simon Says Stamp set. Some Studio G glitter drops gave this otherwise soft card a bit of sparkle.
