Bunny and Egg Wreath

What an inspiration!  Thank you Just Add Ink

It was so fun to make this!  The eggs were stamped ( a long retired set from Close to My Heart) with Distress Oxide inks and then cut with SSS Nested Egg die - the smallest one. I cut some bunnies and shaded them a bit with Antique Linen and gave them pink on their ears.  I ink blended a scrap with greens and then cut out some foliage.  The sentiment is from the new Gina K kit.

Pencils Mini Slimline

Joining a couple of challenges this morning: CCEE Stampers #2112 "Pencils" and the Weekend Workout with AAA CAS Card Challenge on Facebook.  They have a private group there, but if you love to make CAS cards ask to join. I've linked to their regular challenge blog here. Also, a personal challenge to use some of the new product that arrived this week.  I went on a spree and it's all arriving!  Happy dance here.  This sweet set was a free gift in my Altenew Order.  I thought it was perfect timing!

I don't have any slim line dies, but made this MFT Wonky rectangle work by leaving the die and paper off the edge of my cutting plate and then lining it up on the other side to get the 6" length.  I've watched that trick on videos, but never tried it and was thrilled it worked perfectly.  I colored the image with colored pencils and did a little blending with Gamsol.

Hoppy Birthday

Used this darling My Favorite Things stamp and die for this weeks sketch -

This is a fun weekly challenge sponsored by Riley & Co.  Come check it out and get crafty!  The Design Team would love to see your projects.

Faux Embossed Birthday

It started with a sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches and a technique, and a new Birthday die... The card was made with patterned paper from Carta Bella Paper Flower Garden cut with Altenew's oval frame die. The accent flowers were fussy cut from the patterned paper.

The sentiments are from the new Gina K kit.  I watched this video link at Understand Blue with so many fun ways to sparkle up your die cut sentiments. She said her favorite was packing tape on colored card stock. Yes!!!  It looks like I embossed it with clear or covered it with Glossy Accents...but it's packing tape. Quick and easy and shiny!  What a perfectly awesome hack.  Thank you

Beyond the Blue for sharing the link and the challenge.

Tulip Birthday

One of my favorite things is happy mail - so I subscribe to Altenew's Paint a Flower and treat myself to happy crafting mail each month!  This set is so pretty. I have colored it using the color challenge for Hand Stamped Sentiments #360 and my alcohol markers.  I fussy cut the right side, embossed it with the Fine Frames cover die and popped it up over some soft green patterned paper from my stash.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set.

Some Bunny Loves You

This is my card for AAA Card Challenge #186.  I die cut some little bunnies using an Impression Obession die set, and lightly brushed the edges with a cool gray Copic. Then tucked them into some cut grass.  The sentiment is from an older Verve set heat embossed in white.  I tried many places to photograph this card...not easy. I am very pleased with the card, no so much with the photos of it.  I find this is often true of CAS cards with soft colors....anyone offer some ideas, please?

One Layer Easter

Cut masking paper with the Simon Says Stamp Nesting Eggs die, and stenciled over it with Distress inks and the Pretty Pink Posh Easter stencil.  A Close To My Heart sentiment stamped in black and a few sequins for sparkle.

Floral Celebration

My Design Team card for the sketch this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #413.

It was lots of fun stamping this little mini set from Altenew and I colored them with pencils and Gamsol, embellished a bit with black and white gel pen dots, and fussy cut. The white panel was textured with some paste and the new Simon Says Stamp Spring Boho stencil.  The sentiment is from a retired Close To My Heart set that I stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and fussy cut.

3D Embossing

I only have a few of these embossing folders, and have not played with them much. So today I inked some silver archival ink on one side and embossed a piece of navy card stock. I inked and embossed twice to get good coverage, and the result was amazing!  Love this look.  I punched out a circle - realizing that I could not use a die cut without squashing all that beautiful dimension.  Then I used a larger die cut circle for the silver matting.  I scored the card and drew lines between with a silver pen.  It looked too nice to stamp a sentiment, so I silver embossed a Happy Birthday inside.

Spin me Around Beyond the Blue

Beyond the Blue challenge this week  BTB7 was to "Use what you've got!" - well I was going through my folder of started-never-finished things when I came to some watercolor practices I'd done while visiting my son in Japan in 2019.  There was one that had three roundish circles of color...and that made me think of another challenge this week at Little Red Wagon "You spin me around."  They wanted circles of all kinds.   So I dug out the SSS Circled Sentiments and a retired CTMH set Circle Around and found circles that fit my watercolor.  Then I masked and added a few more stamped circles, and finally got out a stencil and blended in some more circles with Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron Distress inks. I never would have thought of this without challenge inspiration.  Finished it off with a heat embossed birthday sentiment from the same SSS set.  It all spins around because my son requested some birthday cards. ♥

A Tiny Hello

Finally got to make this card for

AAA Card Challenges.  I white heat embossed a flower from a Concord & 9 set, and a hello sentiment from an Altenew Paint a Flower set, then used the 1" stitched square from MFT dies. Popped it on the upper corner of a top folding card base with some thin foam tape.  Quick and cute as can be!

Check out the clever ways the Design Team and other crafters have been playing with this challenge.

Sunshine

My Design Team card for this week's challenge at Sketch Saturday.  This is a one week challenge which begins today and closes March 19th, sponsored by Riley & Co.

The background panels were scored for some dimension. The sentiment die is from My Favorite Things, the floral image from Altenew Paint-a-Flower Daffodils was colored with Copics and Altenew Artist markers, the punch is an older Stampin'Up! border punch.

I hope you'll give the sketch a try and link up. We love to see what you create!

World of Love

Time for a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

This is my gatefold take on the sketch using some CTMH papers from my stash-so long retired I am not sure what set it was from.  The image and sentiments are from a Simon Says Stamp set called World of Love Sentiments. I used ink daubers to ink directly on the stamp with three Distress inks, then blended over all with a blue and free hand cut it with some shaped scissors. The card base was made with Neenah Desert Storm card stock.  I stamped both sentiments with CTMH Peacock ink. I highlighted a few of the stars with some diamond Stickles.

Spring Thank You

Using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today as I work on an order of Thank You cards. The floral image is from Altenew's Focus on You set.  It is difficult to see in the photos, but there is a very soft blending halo of pale yellow behind the side blooms. I colored them with alcohol markers, die cut the center bloom and before popping it up adhered a bit of Antique Gold thread. The sentiment is from a reitred CTMH heart set, heat embossed gold.

Sympathy

Try Stampin' on Tuesday #495 sketch inspired this card.  I have been trying to clean my craft space and organize patterned paper.  I found some lovely things, and have a pile of selections to use - all color coordinated now.  A crafter with lots of pretty paper needs lots of good sketches!

I cut the scallop strips three times and layered them.

Easter Blessings

Recently, I watched Gina K do some stamping with acrylic blocks. When I saw the sketch at Just Add Ink it seemed just right for that technique.  I scribbled on the small block with Zig clean color brushes and spritzed with water.  I left it to dry, and stamped some small flowers and leaves and the sentiment in Onyx Black and added a few Nuvo drop embellishments.  The Avery Elle scalloped frame was cut twice and stacked for just a little dimension. I trimmed my stamped panel to fit inside and adhered all to some pale lilac textured paper, and that on a white card base.
