CAS Colours & Sketches

For this card I used a section of a stamped piece made with Concord  & 9th flower turnabout set. Stamped in Close To My Heart inks: Honey, Slate, and Sorbet. I used a Copic Cool Gray marker to add little dots in spaces between the flowers.  The sentiment was cut four times using Altenew Fine Alphabet dies. I stacked them and then coated with several layers of clear emboss for shine and dimension.

Summertime

Tuesday Morning Sketches has an very interesting challenge up this week. So I made a quilt card using the colors, embossed with a Darice folder, Beach Waves, and used my new Simon Says Stamp die, Summertime, and double inlaid the letters.  I added a few clear drops from Studio Katia.  The quilt pattern was one I saw on a quilting site recently. I sketch them and add to my collection. I adore paper quilting!

Summer Sunshine

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #266.

This sketch really was difficult for me.  So simple, and yet I tried several things that ended in the trash bin.  The wreath thing really threw me.  So I looked through nearly every stamp I owned, and then decided to clean my craft table...sometimes that helps!   And there was a very old set I had pulled out last week with a dozen others. I am attempting to eliminate some old sets.  See where this is going? (cue laughter)
This is why I save them all. sigh.

Anyhoot, I paired the Close To My Heart stamp with a sentiment from a newer Lawn Fawn set, and a cute Savvy die that was used to cover a booboo made with a blob of shimmer from the Wink of Stella I used on the sun rays.  After all that I couldn't bear to start over. Happy crafting!

Birthday

Pink, not usually my color, is all over the table this morning.  So here's a very simple card with some Nuvo Crystal drops, a paper flower, and a new birthday stamp from Papertrey.  My photography skills are zero.  Hard to see, but the top strip is a very pale pink linen paper.

happy summer!

Well, not quite yet, but soon.  This darling Lawn Fawn stamp and die set was a late summer purchase last year that never saw ink.  I pulled it out with some other summer themed things in anticipation... and when I saw the CAS(E) this Sketch today, I knew I'd found inspiration to use it.

Papers used: the back of Sprinkled Blossoms by 'pebbles,' and Neenah Solar White.
Stamped in Versafine black and colored with Copics. Liquid Glass on the watermelon rind for a little bit of shine.

I appreciate you

May was a splurge month for new craft supplies!  I keep seeing things I love and there have been some awesome sales.  I played a lot today with Hero Arts - Thanks Stamp & Cut, and Flowering Nasturtium stamp and matching die cut.  Three cards all using different techniques: a resist on glossy CASEing a Jennifer McGuire card, a watercolor, and

this card inspired by Tuesday Morning Sketch #454

The image was stamped in Versafine Black, colored with Copic markers, and die cut.  Then I stamped again on a panel all around the edge.  Using two Hero Arts Infinity rectangle dies, I cut a frame from the stamped 41/5" x 51/2", and an inside frame from black card stock.

The sentiment (from the Thanks set) was heat embossed with Hero Arts White.  The flower and sentiment were popped with foam tape.

Thinking of You AHSC

This card was inspired by the current  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #265 and Close to My Heart products - retired now, I'm afraid.  I have quite a stash of all their beautiful stamps, papers and inks. Kaleidoscope paper, Beloved Bouquet clear layering stamps used with Pixy, Sorbet, Sweet Leaf and Garden Green inks; Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings stamped in Versafine Black.  Pearl embellishments also CTMH. I did use some Zig clean color markers to add some color shading to the flowers.

For a Special friend

This weekend I have several dear friends in need of some hugs and support.  Sometimes difficult to design a message that can send sympathy, caring, and concern.  The inside of this one uses a sentiment "The best thing about this card is the person holding it."

I've used Close to My Heart stamps and dies- A Bunch of Love, and papers from my stash.  The flowers were colored with Distress inks and a water brush. I did add some Nuvo drops for a bit of shine.

I am linking it to Tuesday Morning Sketches #453.  Sketch challenges are my favorite way to nudge the creative mojo!
