Sketch Saturday

Good Morning!  It's hot again in the PNW - not sure where you are, but the weather map looks like good weather in most of the country for beach or craft room. Right?  The two best summer options.

New challenge today at Sketch Saturday - you can select any sketch you'd like from their archive of sketches.  Since my Design Team does all the odd numbered sketches, I decided to pick from the even numbers.  So my sketch inspiration is #638 from Nov. 2020.  I had fun using my new mini from Altenew for the tree, some gingham from My Favorite Things, and a sentiment from Gina K Caring Flowers set. Ink blended with Distress inks. The squares are popped up with foam tape.

Hope you will take a look and pick your favorite sketch. Link up at Sketch Saturday and tell us what number you chose.  All challenges are sponsored by Riley & Co.

Pretty in Pink

Just Add Ink has a very pretty color challenge which I am combining with Colour Crazy Craft Challenge (anything goes coloring). I cut the Altenew Cube Cover die, backed it with black card stock. Then stamped the new Altenew Paint-A-Flower, Fashion Monger Dahlia in copic friendly ink.  I colored the blooms with Altenew R302 and Copic RV34, fussy cut the image and popped it up on the panel with foam tape. The sentiment is from Gina K and was stamped on a strip of CTMH Blush card stock. I brushed the flower centers with shimmer pen and added a few clear sequins for a bit of sparkle.

AHSC #431

Happy Day!

Monday means a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

This is a great one for those pretty paper scraps you have, or maybe washi tape?   Excited to see what creative ideas you have. Link up your project!

I have used some patterned paper scraps cut at 3/4" wide. I lightly ink blended ink using Altenew's Flowing Drops stencil on some pale gray card stock  before adhering my woven scraps. The sentiment is from the Gina K Painted Blossoms set, and a few sequins added for sparkle.

Sea You Soon

My Design Team card for this week at Sketch Saturday #669

This was a tough one for me...sometimes the mojo is sooo reluctant.  But I had a panel that I had created with the gel press and some netting in a pile of unused created stuff. It became the inspiration for a sea theme.  I used die cuts of leaves and foliage from Altenew and the fish, sea stars and shells are Savvy dies. I put some watercolors on a scrap of water color card for the fish.  The sentiment is from a Jillibean set.

I look forward to seeing some creativity on the blog links for this week's sketch! Check out the challenge at Sketch Saturday and join us. All challenges are sponsored by Riley & Co.

Happy Summer

New sketch today at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  My Design Team card uses two sets - one from Lawn Fawn for sentiment and ants, and a Mini Melon set from Altenew. The gingham is My Favorite Things.  The diamond elements in the sketch can be many things as you will see when the rest of the design team cards are revealed on Wednesday.  Meanwhile, what do you see in your stash that works?  Create a project and link up at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Cloud Birthday

I flipped this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches so I could have the three elements become my kites.  The main card panel was embossed with a cloud folder, the vertical strip ink blended with a cloud stencil.  The kites were stamped with Gina K inks. The kite and string are from a very old, a well-loved  CTMH set. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. Hard to see in the photo, but I also ink blended the envelope with clouds.

What's Up?

Carving out time to craft this week, and I have been finishing projects and cleaning up the craft space.  One of my favorite challenges is AAA Cards and I have been thinking of critters for this one for days.

I used alcohol markers to color in this sweet image, and ink left on my blue blending brush for clouds with a stencil (both My Favorite Things).  The sentiment is from a recent Altenew Paint-a-Flower set. White gel pen created dots and a little Glossy Accents on the stars finished it.

One day I would like to take a ride in a hot air balloon.  They sure are pretty to watch!

Summertime

Good Morning!   Hope you will be having a wonderful weekend and find some crafty time.  There is a new sketch at Sketch Saturday here.   This is my Design Team card for the sketch.

I rotated the sketch. The blue panel was dry embossed with the Beachy Waves folder, and I sanded the card stock to have some white core show through.  The sun was heat embossed with white before using resist ink blend technique with Distress inks. The sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp die. I also used Distress inks to stamp the images. They are from a very old CTMH set and had to be fussy cut. For the last element I was happy to find a piece of rough cord and a cute fish charm in my bits and pieces.

I hope you will give this fun sketch a try. Link up at Sketch Saturday so we can see what you make.
