Embossing

It is my turn to select the theme for this week's challenge Allsorts!

                                 EMBOSSING - dry or heat

                                or always Anything Goes option

Of all the fantastic products available to crafters, one of the most affordable and versatile is the embossing folder.  So many fun techniques to use with these!  Also affordable are embossing powders used with any stamp, clear embossing ink and a heat gun.  Endless possibility for designs and colors.

Challenge #752 at Allsorts has these marvelous sponsors and prizes drawn for each challenge drawn at the end of the month. This month prizes are from  Stampendous and Oakwood Direct and WOWVOW

My inspiration card for this week uses the dry embossing option, with a fun technique. I used a brayer to apply gold pigment ink to one side of the Spellbinder Christmas Tile folder before running it through my die cut machine.  This creates a subtle shimmer to the debossed areas.  The panel was trimmed down and matted on gold card. The envelope flap was also embossed.

The card is embellished using elements from Spellbinder's Layered Poinsettia Tree die set, some gold thread and a sentiment from Gina K Designs.

I love embossing and hope you will share some of your embossed creations this week at Allsorts.

CAS Winter Wishes

My slimline card today uses the Spellbinder's Christmas Tile embossing folder. I lightly inked it with powder blue and then a tiny touch of silver Luster Wax. The snowflake was cut out using a Savvy die and baked with a piece of blue card that had been sprayed with silver shimmer. That panel edged with matt silver card. The silver heat embossed sentiment is from Gina K Designs recent kit.

Coffee Soon?

Try Stampin' On Tuesday has a new sketch challenge and the optional twist is Warm Drinks.

My inspiration card for you uses several stencils: Coffee Cup by Picket Fence and Fizzy by Gina K Designs.  I used Cotton Candy and Chocolate inks and a piece of gingham.  There was some masking and I did the double stencil technique.  The card base is a recycled natural cream with flecks.  I put a few highlights on with a white gel pen.

Please check out the marvelous work of the rest of the design team at TSOT

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Autumn Z fold

Wish the texture paste and the shimmer would show up in the photos. I tinted the texture paste for this Simon Says Stamp stencil, splattered with  the same ink colors, and gave the whole panel a spray of gold shimmer.  The sentiment is from Gina K Designs stamped in Terracotta and Chocolate inks.  The little metal leaves are from my bead embellishment stash.

Sketch Saturday

My design team inspiration for today's new challenge at

                          Sketch Saturday

There is an optional twist to rotate the sketch.

I have used papers, stamps, and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp for my card.

Autumn Colors

New at Allsorts today - Challenge #451 with option to use Autumn Colors.

Autumn colors are a favorite of mine!  I had a lot of fun putting together all the sweet little bits in this Spellbinders Small die of the month kit.  A dear friend loves hiking at all times of the year and has an October birthday, so these hiking boots seemed like a perfect fit :-)
Everything used to die cut came from my scraps box.  For a background I stenciled with Gina K Designs Cobblestone stencil and her Soft Stone ink.

Hope you will join this challenge!

Boo!

There is a problem, and I know I'm not alone. When I try to reorganize and clean out the craft room, I just find things that I had forgotten about and now want to play with.  Very little ever leaves this place :-)

So I made this card with a sweet black and white piece of Pebbles paper from the Halloween bag, and a stencil from Carta Bella. I ink blended with several oranges from Altenew's Warm & Cozy set of inks and cut the panel down. I inked the cat and sentiment from two Close to My Heart sets from decades ago, and fussy cut them. My grandson will love this goofy cat expression!

Texture

Challenge #750 at Allsorts is to use Texture or the Anything Goes option.

The texture on my card is an embossed back panel and a focal panel of leaves that were impressed into the card stock using dies. Rather than cutting through the card, I placed a rubber embossing mat behind. I did some light ink blending over the leaves and splatter with gold paint and inked with a stoneware texture stamp.  A bit of twine also adds texture.

Time to Unwind

A CAS card inspired by two challenges.  I stamped the image from Yarn Love, Simon Says Stamp, and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The sentiment was stamped in Indian Corn Blue, and I matted the image panel on Indian Corn card stock.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the colors, the autumn chill, the special foods, and most importantly the gatherings with friends and family to celebrate our blessings.

So when I go through my stamps and supplies I find more autumn themed products than anything else. Today I found some beautiful things left from last year's fall kit at Gina K Designs.  The Autumn Splendor kit came with a die to cut these gorgeous fall ephemera pieces, and they are still available in her shop. I just had to make a few more cards with them, so I made a pop-up card. The sentiments, stamped in chocolate ink are from this year's Gina K Harvest Silhouettes kit.

A wonderful fall inspiration photo for the new challenge from

Try Stampin' On Tuesday

My card uses both the photo and the sketch. The images and sentiment are from Gina K Designs A Breath of Sunshine kit. I stamped, colored with Gina K inks and used coordinating dies. The right  right back panel was embossed with the Altenew Deck Planks folder and inked.

Halloween Birthday

Monday morning means a new sketch at

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

My design team card for you is one that will go to a dear friend who has her birthday October 31st! I actually have two friends with birthdays on Halloween, and they always get special cards :-)

The sketch is perfect for using some fun papers from the stash.  I have a pouch devoted to Halloween papers, washi tape, Baker's twine, and some embellishments so they are featured in this card.

The circle sentiment and orange paper are both CTMH products from over a decade.  Great papers are hoarded and some stamp sets are forever friends.  The inside has a few little matching banners.

Grateful for You

Good morning and here's to the new challenge  #736 at

Sketch Saturday

The sketch has been rotated for my Design Team card.  You can see both orientations of the sketch in the amazing cards the rest of the team has for your inspiration.

The banner was ink blended with Distress Inks -Aged Mahogany, Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, and Shabby Shutters and run through Gina K Designs Falling Leaves embossing folder. And I lightly inked the raised leaves with gold pigment ink.  The die cut leaves and sentiment are also Gina K Designs from her September '23                Breath of Sunshine kit.

Vintage

New challenge #749 at Allsorts this week gives you the option to create a Vintage theme card or Anything Goes.

Prizes from: Stamp AddictsOakwoodHighlight CraftsRuth Hamilton Design, AALL and Create and Craft Stash

It was a a fun time poking about in my embellishment 'junk' drawer! It's where all the little odds and ends find a home :-) I found the little bird in there, some lace and the Tom Holtz sentiments.  For the newspaper I printed a free newspaper page, stamped some silhouette leaves and flowers, a AALL& Create stamp and then did some distressing on edges.

CASE a Design Team card

This was a challenge that provided quite some fun today!

The design team at Just Us Girls has some stunning cards, but I was drawn to Bobby's card. I watched the Jo Simons video which she links in her post, and then went through my supplies. Altenew's folders are marvelous and I have several, but only three florals, so I used Majestic Bloom.  Then I was shocked to discover I did not have Peacock Feathers in Distress Oxide. I substituted Broken China which was the closest one I had. I wish I had used a bit more of it near the amber in the blending stage.

                               Bobby's card:

My CASE

It's a really fun technique and one I will try again. Putting a few folders in my wish list :-)
