Happy Mother's Day Trellis

 The new challenge at Allsorts

*** Anything Goes with the Option- One for the Girls ***

My Design Team card is a very currently trendy trellis card. It's fun to make and as easy as advertised :-)   Finding something to put on the trellis was more of a challenge. I colored an Altenew image of Sweet Peas colored with Copics, and stamped Happy Mother's Day inside. I'm away at a crafting retreat, and am unhappy with the colors I brought...but  I did try to match some images of sweet peas online. I think it needs more greenery as well. Do any of you have trouble crafting away from your home stash?

This will go to one of my beautiful daughters-in-law. My DILs have been such a blessing in my life. They are beautiful, strong women, loving mothers and the best partners for my sons.

There are great crafty prizes for this challenge and the other in May provided by our generous sponsors. The draw for each of the weekly challenges will be drawn May 29th.

Prizes from WOWVOWOakwood Direct and Craft Stash

Anemone

The new sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday #604 with an option of  eyelets/brads.

I am away at a retreat, and didn't bring either of the option choices, so used gold confetti to replace that element.  I also forgot my embossing powders :-(   The intent was to stamp the image and heat emboss with gold over the ink blending and then use the black out technique with the black marker.  Improvised card was very lightly stamped so I could see the approximate areas of leaf and flower. I ink blended with two shades of Spruce Green and two shades of Lilac, then stamped in black again, blacked out with marker and splattered with gold shimmer water color.  The floral image is Altenew Paint-a-Flower Anemone and the sentiment from Gina K Designs So Many Sentiments. The green front panel is a lovely textured linen card stock from my stash.

Have a Chill Day

New #522 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

I had a very fun time creating this bright, happy card. Fun paper from Echo Park, sentiments and yellow card stock from Simon Says Stamp. Inside it says "Have a Chill Day" and will be saved for my grandson's summer birthday. It is a versatile sketch and this came together so quickly. My only problem was no sunglass stamp/die. Really?? Now on my wish list. I went to free Google clip art and found these - printed and fussy cut.

Hope you will play along with us!!

I
I used stamps and coordinating dies from My Favorite Things, The Whole Herd set, some MFT Gingham papers, and little cloud punch. Images colored with Copics.

I hope you will join the challenge!!  Look forward to seeing you at Allsorts.

Graphic Birthday

New at Sketch Saturday- #724 with an optional twist: Monochromatic.

My design team inspiration for this sketch does not use the option.  Instead I was inspired by the little squares in the sketch and this quilt from McCall's Quilting magazine (Jan/Feb 2023).  I really love getting ideas from this magazine.

I used scraps of colors and the background panel is repurposed from the inside of a security envelope. The sentiment is from Spellbinders Sentimental Ampersand set.

Hope you will join the challenge!

Get Well Carnations

Lynn has a very fun new challenge at Allsorts this week.  Challenge #724

*** A/G with Optional Twist: Create your own Background ***

My Design Team inspiration for you uses a beautiful bouquet of Carnations from Ruth Hamilton Designs.  Ruth has some stunning digital designs in her shop, and I love using them on my cards.  This one was colored with Prisma color pencils and fussy cut.  I did make my background by random stamping a leafy spray in Gina K Jelly Bean ink. The panel was cut down to fit in the scalloped frame that is from Gina K Master Layouts 4. I popped this panel up on some Buttercup yellow card stock that was embossed with Altenew's Organic Linen folder. The sentiment is from the same set as the leaf, Gina K Designs, Flowing Florals, and I made a matching envelope.

You could win some images from Ruth Hamilton Designs or any of the many fabulous prizes from our sponsors this month: OakwoodAALL and CreateStamp AddictsRuth Hamilton DesignAldridge Crafts.  Drawing on April 28th.    We hope you will join us!

Wishing You a Colorful Day

Sketch #602 at

Try Stampin' On Tuesday!

My Design Team card for this used the rainbow and the sketch.

I cut two of each color from scraps and glued them together for stability and then around the circle that would show behind the side panel. The sentiment was heat embossed. I cut the side panels using Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. Inside sentiment says 'Wishing you a colorful day.'

Hope you will join the challenge!

Thanks a Bunch

The flowers were stamped twice, water colored and die cut. They are from a retired CTMH set, A Bunch of Love and actually have a banner that I cut off so the flowers formed an oval frame. The oval was ink blended and more yellow blending around the flowers, with some splatter. The sentiment is also from that set.  The card was inspired by  Freshly Made Sketches #579

Happy

Having a quiet day after a busy week, and it has felt great to watch crafting videos, tidy up my space and play a little.  The challenge blogs really help me get going and to use things in my stash. I've listed them below.

Todays card uses some older patterned papers from my CTMH stash. So I paired the stripes with some dotted paper in the same shade of yellow. The piece of gray card stock was embossed with a twill stripes folder.  I stamped the Altenew Happy Eight image and then used the Artist Markers to color with a slight touch of gray, greens, and yellow. I fussy cut and popped it up with foam tape.  The sentiment is a preprinted strip. A few silver confetti to give some sparkle.

Linking to Creative Knockouts #491 -Use 2 or more patterned papers
Color Throwdown #736 - yellow, sage green, gray, white

Spring Garden Tulips

My design team inspiration card for challenge #722/23 at Allsorts.  The challenge will last for two weeks, and the theme is Anything Goes with option of "In the Spring Garden."

I heat embossed the Stamplorations image on a piece of patterned paper and then colored with Copics. The apertures were cut with rectangle dies and popped up on a white card base for a CAS design. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Easter Spring set.

Wonderful prizes from OakwoodAALL and CreateStamp AddictsRuth Hamilton DesignAldridge Crafts. Prizes for all April challenges will be selected and posted April 28th.

I made another press on the stamp and patterned paper with black ink, but didn't finish it until later yesterday. I colored with Copics, matted with black card and put on a pink front. I really like it, and while the other is lovely in real life, this one is a bit more photogenic :-)
