So Girly - Allsorts 682

Two marvelous prizes for this week's challenge at Allsorts #682 - stamps from AALL & Create.  The theme is  So Girly and I hope my design team inspiration cards give you some ideas.

For my first card I colored this A Day For Daisies digital image with Altenew Artist markers, cut it with an oval die and adhered it to a panel of patterned paper that had been embossed with Gina K Designs folder, Tapestry. The sentiment is from Gina K 's Perfect Posy set.

My second card uses a scrap of patterned paper from a Simon Says kit, an older Martha Stewart border punch and a silhouette image. The sentiment has been stamped inside. This will be a birthday card for a dear P.E.O. sister who has an amazing hat collection and wears one to every meeting.

I hope you will join in the fun!
Thanks for looking at my blog.

Triangles

My card was inspired by challenge #450 at Use Your Stuff 'Triangles."

The stamp used is from Studio Light and was in a Crafty Box from Simon Says Stamp last year.      Time to use it!

The front panel was created with the 'trapped ink' technique: stamped with color, stamped with Versamark and clear embossed, then covered with Black Soot ink. The sentiment is from a Gina K set, Birthday Bash, and I free cut some colorful triangles from scraps.

Also linking to Krafty Chicks #617 All Occasions.

Fun in the Sun - TSOT

Fun new sketch for you at                                        Try Stampin' On Tuesday!

There are always two great sketches open at TSOT - each lasts for two weeks.  My design team card is for sketch #561 starting today.

My card uses the Adorable Adventures set by My Favorite Things. A really fun set for creating all kinds of scenes.  I colored with alcohol markers and ink blended background with Gina K inks. As you can see I rotated the sketch to make landscape

I have always enjoyed camping with my three boys and now the grandchildren.  This card will go to my oldest son who will visit later this summer. He lives in Japan, and it's been three years since he was able to come home. We usually get to Lake Quinault for a camp and Loop hike.

Bold Birthday SS#703

Happy Saturday and welcome to the new Sketch Saturday Challenge,  June 18-July 1st

The option is to use only scraps for the layers in your card!

For my design team inspiration, I got out my scrap box and found some fun things. Even the white circle was in there, and I cut it it half after stamping it with Simon Says Stamp, Circle Sayings.  I am also linking this card to Creative Knockouts #457 challenge to use 2 or more patterned papers on your card.

I hope you will play along with us at Sketch Saturday!

Allsorts #681 'Summer Flowers'

Good Morning, I am the host of this week's challenge at ALLSORTS and have chosen the theme

                                                                Summer Flowers

The prizes for this challenge are a floral stamp and 3 images from Ruth Hamilton Design

My design team inspiration uses Nasturtiums by Ruth Hamilton. She has so many beautiful floral images available. I printed it twice and colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I cut out the smaller flower and tucked it in to make a trio of blooms which was popped up on a black panel embossed with a Swiss dot folder (impossible to see in my photos). The sentiment is from an Altenew Paint-a-Flower set., and some water drop embellishments to finish.

Summer is very slow to arrive this year and so I referred to an online picture to inspire my colors. A seed catalogue is often a great source!
I look forward to seeing your summer blooms posted on the Allsorts blog! Check out the rest of the design team inspiration.

Hello Sunshine AHSC #477

Happy Monday! Check out this new sketch at  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I made a square card and attempted to follow the heart as the central focus. I recently watched a video about the floating strips technique, and thought perhaps it would work with this 'fractured' design. I cut pieces and glued them down to acetate, then cut with the stitched heart die from Gina K Designs. I popped it up with foam tape onto another heart cut from yellow card stock. The sentiment die is from My Favorite Things. The patterned paper is from my stash of unused paper from Simon Says Stamp kits.  The bee (Altenew) was stamped and fussy cut as was the flower (CTMH).

Sympathy

Always inspired by the sketches at Freshly Made, but almost never get them finished in time to post. Made time to craft today and can link this card inspired by sketch FMS#539 and CAS on Friday #233

The card base is Simon Says Fog card stock. I stamped and colored the cala lily from a mini set by Altenew. The sentiment is Gina K Designs, Spring greetings. The dots behind the lily were stamped through a cut circle mask with Archival Planinum Planet ink. They are subtle and hard to photograph, but  do provide some shine in real life. A few tiny pearls were added from my stash.

One Day at a Time

This is my first time crafting with the stamp/die bundle from Gina K Designs. It's called One Day at a Time, designed by Lisa Hetrick.  I've used Distress inks to stamp and also to paint the pear. The sentiment comes from another Gina K set, So Many Sentiments. The front panel was cut with a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp, and adhered to Nina Smooth Desert Storm card stock.

I was inspired to break open the set when I saw the challenge at Color Throwdown. CD696 calls for kraft, cream. green.

Distress Inks:  Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Brushed Corduroy
Gina K ink: Sandy Beach

Allsorts #680

Anything Goes with a stamped image at ALLSORTS #680.  Brenda is host for this week and the challenge prizes are a Gift voucher to Stamp Addicts and a stencil.

My first design team card used a House Mouse image stamped on watercolor paper and water colored with Distress inks. I used some fun papers from My Favorite Things as background and Gina K oval dies.  The hooray is a mini stamp & die set from Altenew and HB a preprinted strip sentiment.

The other card used a stamped and heat embossed sentiment. The background was created by using ink direct to the Gina K Designs Tapestry embossing folder in Light Spruce, Powder Blue and Lovely Lavender inks. Some gold thread and confetti add more shine. I also embossed the tab of the mini-slim envelope.

Hope you will join challenge #680 at Allsorts this week!

TSOT #559 Cruisin'

Great new sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday with an option to make a masculine card. All my sons were summer boys and now my oldest grandson is a summer guy also turning 16 this year. So guy cards are needed!

I used some long retired (ie. hoarded) paper from CTMH called Cruisin', a car from  an Altenew mini set, and sentiment from Gina K Designs. All the inks and the stitched oval die were Gina K as well. Time for a road trip!

Sure hope you will check out the rest of the design team inspiration and join us!

Just A Note SS #702

Good morning!

Another fun new sketch challenge at  Sketch Saturday.  This has lots of layers and was a fun way to use some pretty papers from my stash, and a sentiment from Simon Say Stamp April 2022 kit stamped with Blue Denim on pink paper.  Confetti embellishment from Pretty Pink Posh.  The flowers were fussy cut from the pattern on the reverse side of the blue dot paper.

I hope you will join us at Sketch Saturday! The challenge runs for two weeks.

A new challenge at Allsorts #679 - Sun, Sea & Sand. Lorraine is your host this week.

My inspiration card for you has just sun and sea. I always love the sight and sound of the ocean- the power, beauty and endless energy. This Stampin Up! image was stamped using three Distress Oxide inks, and light ink blending for the sky.  The card will go to my dearest friend who is beginning her chemotherapy journey.

Please visit the blog and see the amazing work of the design team.

A prize of a stamp set and stencil for this week's challenge. I hope you will join us at Allsorts
