A Bunch of Flowers

Lynn's fun challenge this week at Allsorts  #734

*** A Bunch of Flowers or the Anything Goes Option ***

My card uses Altenew's Mini Delight Budding Wallpaper stamp and die set. Loving the Misti stamping tool which allows repeated stamping with different inks to get a layered look. I stamped lots of flowers, die cut, and grouped them in a cone made from an old book...the print ended upside which I did not discover in time to change! What a goof :-(   I distressed all the edges with Antique Linen ink.

I hope you will check out the beautiful cards from the design team and craft along with us!

Beachy Keen

Fun Tuesday! Hope you are enjoying some summery weather.

I have just returned from visiting with my brother at Cape Cod :-) so I am definitely still in a beachy mood.

My design team inspiration for

Try Stampin' On Tuesday $612 uses the Beachy Keen stamp set from Simon Says Stamp for images and sentiment,  My Favorite Things (Wonky Stitched Rectangle) and Altenew's Burlap Texture die. The background paper is Echo Park. This was super fun to make.

Juneteenth

Good Morning!

It's June 19th - important to know the history of this day.  I was asked to make a Juneteenth card for someone and so I have used the new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge as my design, and it's my DT inspiration for you.  The team has created some great cards. They all post on the blog Wednesday.

I embossed the colored card with a Cuttlebug folder, Africa Weave. After ink blending a strip I used Altenew's Fine Alphabet die to cut the letters. The flower, from Simon Says Stamp Look for the Rainbows set, was stamped, colored with Copics and fussy cut. The stars were cut with a older die from Verve.

Splatter & Spritz

Watched an fun technique video by K Werner and decided to give it a try. I used three colors of Simon Says Pawsitively Saturated inks - Rose, Ocean, and Citrine. I splattered and dried between each, and then put some water proof black ink splatters on the dried piece. Then I spritzed with clean water and let the inks reactivate and blend. It was fun to watch it happen!

This seemed like a good background for the sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday.  Sketch #728 has an option to use three colors. To complete the other elements, I cut a strip of pink, and made a frame from some Altenew dies. The black floral sprig and the stamped sentiment are Gina K Designs.

Give it a try!  The design team loves to visit and see what you create.

Celebrate Graduation

Allsorts #733 The challenge this week is...

Blooms, Bees, & Butterflies or Anything Goes Option

Prizes from SizzixAALL and CreateAldridge CraftsLavinia and Ruth Hamilton Design

My Design Team card has blooms in a wrap card and a butterfly inside.  I got the idea to try this from a recent Jennifer McGuire You-tube video. The blooms are Altenew's Forever & Always stamp and die set. They were heat embossed with Platinum powder and colored with Artist Markers. The butterfly and inside sentiment are from Gina K Designs, Never Lose Hope.  Front sentiment used two different Paint-a-Flower sets from Altenew.  When opened the inside is actually a top fold card so you can open and write a personal message inside. This will go to my friends granddaughter who graduates as Valedictorian of her high school class this year.

I hope you will join the challenge!

Happy Balloons

It's my week to host the challenge #732 at Allsorts, and the theme I chose is BIRTHDAY.  Always need lots of birthday cards on hand, and it's good to have a few for children because the grandkids come to raid my stash when they are invited to a friend's party :-)

Prizes for this week's challenge from SizzixAALL and CreateAldridge CraftsLavinia and Ruth Hamilton Design

My card used image and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Party Like A Panda kit colored with Copics, some Echo Park paper, and oval dies from Gina K Designs. Embellished with sequins from Trinity Stamps.

Hope you will join us at Allsorts - we look forward to seeing your creations!

Tall Pines

Happy Tuesday!  Hope you are in a crafty mood for a new sketch challenge at

                               Try Stampin' On Tuesday!

                                  # 160  Option - Masculine

I began my card by ink blending some Distress Oxides ( Twisted Citron, Pine Needles, and Chipped Sapphire). Then stamped Tall Pines (Gina K Designs) in Onyx Black, and splattered with silver watercolor.  The sentiment is from Friendly Silhouettes (Gina K) stamped on a scrap of Ionized Metallic paper. I used some gray ink to stamp more pines on the envelope.

In my Heart

My Design Team card for this week's new challenge at

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge uses flowers and greenery from Simon Says Stamp Brushed Flowers -which was the stamp set in their April 2022 kit. The sentiment is from Spring Window - their March 2021 set. The inks used were Ocean, Rose, Citrine and Lucky- Pawistively Saturated SSS. All the flowers and leaves were fussy cut. I used one of the leaves to stamp a background, then added a lot of splatter and some pen hand drawn dots and lines to the flowers before adhering them in a bouquet.

Please join the challenge at AHSC!
