Sunday Stamping

The challenge at Sunday Stamps Challenge 225 is full of fun Mardi Gras color! Bright and bold. Gold, green and purple are my focus.

I have used Framed Tulips from Stamplorations, embossed with gold. The image was colored with watercolor pencil and Copics. There are some gold shimmer splatters on the card base.

AHSC #357

Image may contain: possible text that says 'Sketch 357 Sentiment Createdby Michele Stevart for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge'

I am loving my new set from Altenew - Charming Doodles. I stamped some of the outline flowers and leaves on watercolor paper and colored with both Zig watercolor markers and greens from Altenew crisp ink.  I love being able to use dye based inks as watercolors.  The stripped paper is a piece from my stash that was a 12x12 from My Mind's Eye.  The sentiment- a CTMH stamp- was inked with Versafine Onyx Black. A little Baker's twine and some clear sequins finished the design.

This is my design team inspiration for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #357.  Hope you will try the sketch yourself and check out the team inspiration on Wednesday.

Guy Birthday

The Watercooler Wednesday Challenge 259 is anything goes with a masculine twist.  After checking my perpetual calendar, I realized I have two guy friends with March birthdays...so they will get this card. I made two - they don't know each other! :-)

I used my brand new dies from Simon Says Stamp to cut the windows and sentiment,  along with some patterned paper from my stash. The paper was from a Close To My Heart collection quite a few years back. That sentiment die is very delicate. I cut three from the same chocolate card stock as the card base and adhered them together for a bit more dimension. I popped the panel and set the little squares inside.  It was very tempting to add some bling...but I resisted.

Big Hello

The card I made today used a Hero Arts background stamp - I stamped it with a Whisper gray ink, and cut a panel for the white card base. Then I used Simon Says Stamp's 'Big Hello' die to cut four hellos from black card stock, and adhered them together for dimension.  The black tie is floss. And I added some Studio Katia clear drops for a bit of shine. All inspired by sketch #422 at Freshly Made Sketches.  I did rotate the sketch for a top folding A2 card.  This is a clean, crisp look.  I love playing along with their great sketches when I can.

Atlantic Hearts 355

Image may contain: possible text that says 'Sketch 355 Sentiment Createdby Michelle Stevart for Atlantic Hearts Sk ketch Challenge'

Sketch #355 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

For this card I used a number of inks to create confetti with the Simon Says Stamp stencil.  The sentiment is from a birthday Papertrey Ink set, and balloons were cut with Paper Smooches dies.

This is a wonderfully simple sketch - try a card and link up to Atlantic Hearts!  There will be plenty of inspiration on their site.
