Seize the Dynamic Floral....

I love the opportunity to look at all my favorite challenge blogs on Saturdays, but I don't often have much time to create and link up.  At best I manage one or two each week.  Today I was inspired! This card matches up three (yes! 3) different challenges:
Seize the Sketch #14

Dynamic Duo - Triple Threat
and Card Concept: #4 Floral Theme

It also gave me the opportunity to play with some of my new things from Close To My Heart: Funky Blossoms stamp set, Chevron embossing folder, and Flamingo Dots.  I have matched the Dynamic colors with CTMH Sweet Leaf, Goldrush and Cotton Candy. I stamped the images, hand cut them and then layered with some foam tape between flower layers. The chevron piece was stamped in Cotton Candy, and placed on a Goldrush mat with the embossed piece.  I wrapped that little panel with Baker's Twine. The Sweet Leaf circle was cut using the Artiste cartridge.

This is my first attempt for Card Concept -  I think I would call this card "Clean & Layering"

Jump for Joy

A one layer card created with a Vintage digital and computer generated sentiment. I used a water brush to color the image.  Very quick card, but I love these sweet dancing children!  I got the image a while back and had not used it.  The CAS-ology challenge got me thinking, and after searching through my stamps without any luck, I thought of this.

Blue on Blue

Another rail fence washi tape card, and I used sketch #21 from Make It From Your Heart, vol. 1. The card stock is Crystal Blue, flowers from my stash.
Entering this at Ribbon Carousel challenge RCC90 - 'use washi tape'

Bold Washi + and Pinwheel

Got lots of inspiration on Lin's blog- http://heartshugsandflowers.blogspot.com
She does some very cool quilt patterns in paper, and also showed a fabulously easy method for making a pinwheel card.  I have CASED her cards, and am looking forward to creating more of the amazing Rail Fence patterns with washi tape.  How clever is that!?
The pinwheel card was created with CTMH Huntington papers and Olive card stock. I ran it through an embossing folder, and copied Lin's use of faux stitching around the pinwheel.

Coffee

A new challenge blog to me, Addicted to CAS, has a challenge this week that seemed perfect for me. Every morning I make my pot of coffee - two mugs as I get ready, a thermos to drink on the way to school, and that leaves enough for a cup or so in the evening. My other addiction is crafting so I'm good to go :-)
This Bugaboo image of Mildred warms my heart.  I colored her with Prisma  pencils, and put a little Liquid Glass on her glasses. The papers are from Close To My Heart Dream Pop.

Laughing Lola

A card using CTMH Laughing Lola paper pack and last week's retro sketch. I cut my panels with some Nestibilities.  The stamped images are two new mini stamps from CTMH. I heat embossed the balloons in black before coloring them and coating them with Liquid Glass.  I hand cut them and popped on with foam tape.  A very bright and cheerful card.  Great sketch...

Skylark

Love this bright new Skylark paper packet from Close To My Heart.  This card uses a 'clip' cut from the Artiste cartridge on Lagoon card stock- the bird can be removed and used as a book mark.  I embossed the white panel with the Quatrefoil embossing folder, and then sponged it with Sweet Leaf ink.  All CTMH products with the exception of the twine and sequins.

Lifting Spirits

A gate fold card using Close To My Heart Balloon Ride paper packet- Saddle card stock for the base,  Sky and Crème Brulee for mats.  The clouds and inside image were stamped in Dessert Sand ink and colored using a water brush with Sky and Crème Brulee inks.  Water brush is one of my favorites - you can use any of the inks, and it's such a soft look.  I hand cut the clouds, and popped the smaller one with a bit of foam tape.  The Baker's Twine is from the new metallic assortment (Z1921).  This stamp set was a limited release in the Christmas mini-catalog, but there is an even lovelier one with air balloons that match the paper in the new Spring/Summer catty...I just don't have that set.

MOJO 331

An attempt at the MOJO sketch this week using Close To My Heart paper from the Balloon Ride packet.  The solid card stocks are Crystal Blue, Cashmere and Colonial White. The larger flowers were cut with Cricut Artiste, and the smaller flower stamped in Sunset and hand cut.  I am not happy with the sentiment piece....and ribbon placement. May have to try to pull apart and adjust.

Thanks to Artiste!

The marvelous Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge Artiste has so many images. I recently saw a great card at http://www.jensscrappypages.blogspot.com/2013/12/artiste-thanks-cards.html, and loved it. I had completely missed seeing this great cut on the cartridge.  I have cased her card here, and substituted one of the new mini stamps from the Spring-Summer catalog, Shooting Star (M1038). The paper is CTMH Laughing Lola (X7170B), Black, Champagne, and Twilight card stocks.  I stamped the shooting star in Twilight pigment ink and heat embossed it with CTMH Clear Detail embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Banner Wishes (B1438).

Rainbows

The color challenge at Less Is More this week is Rainbow.  Right away it brought to mind this Close To My Heart stamp set.    I wrapped a piece of card stock with washi tape, used a Fiskars punch for the clouds, sponging them with some Sky ink, and added a few blue sparkles for raindrops.
