Catch the Bug Color & SSS #111

Two Catch the Bug challenges in one!  Love this little pup digital from Bugaboo. I used some glitter sparkles on the balloon, my new Fiskars cloud punch, and CTMH sentiments.

OLW #90 Dude's Rule

One Layer Wednesday challenge to create a card for a guy.  This one will go to my brother who loves being on Cape Cod more than anything.  I often wish I could be there, too!  This was stamped on PTI Rustic White card stock in CTMH Cocoa ink.  The CTMH stamp set is called Perfect Day.  I used my water brush to tint with CTMH Honey, Barn Red, Pacifica, Chocolate, and Sweet Leaf inks, and sponged a touch of cloud.  Such a peaceful, happy scene.  Let summer begin!

Whimsical Dotty for You

This is a new (at least to me) fold that I found at Stamping with Frenchie here.  She's my new favorite blog! Just love her accent as it reminds me so much of all my Mom's relatives growing up in Spencer, Mass.  She does excellent tutorial videos.
For this card I used CTMH Dotty for You papers and a CTMH retired stamp Whimsical Wings.  The base paper is Smoothie cs, and the butterflies are stamped in Buttercup, Smoothie, and Sweetleaf. Sentiment from Paper Lantern, stamped in Lagoon ink.  I used a MS* punch for the little butterfly and 'sewed' it up with some waxy flax.  The finished card is 41/4 x4 1/4.

ISSC17 & JUGS 138 Birthday Boy!

I rotated the sketch from I Spy Sketches to accommodate the train engine.  The stamps + sentiment are from CTMH Birthday Boy (retired) and the patterned paper from a set called Free Spirit (also retired).  Love these colors, and thought of this old favorite paper right away when I saw the photo inspiration at Just Us Girls this week.

OLW 89 Something Sweet

Creating one layer cards is such a challenge!  When you aren't using layers and designer paper, you are forced to find color and balance on your own.  I am still struggling with this and find enormous inspiration and guidance from the OLW designers. This week's 'Something Sweet' challenge is on Cheryl's page.  I used a post-it to mask on both my cards as I stamped with CTMH's stamp set Fanfare.  Do you think the ice cream cone card needs a bit of ribbon at the top?

FTL 192 Friendship Bouquet

The Clean & Simple sketch challenge this week is wonderful for creating an elegant card quickly.  I used CTMH's May Stamp of the Month (Friendship Bouquet) for the flower and sentiment. They are stamped in CTMH Cocoa ink on watercolor paper. The flower and leaves were colored with Sunflower and Olive ink using the water brush pen, cut out and the flower popped with foam tape.

CASE the best

Vicki Dutcher at All I Do Is Stamp has some fantastic work. You can check out her blog here...I fell in love with her simple card, and knew I had to copy. Mine uses CTMH Miracle papers (retired item) and some craft store ribbon.  Just couldn't find a pretty scrap to match my baker's twine.  CTMH Dotty for You papers would be perfect...mine have not arrived yet.  I adhered the design paper to a circle (2")  punched from a light-weight chip board and popped it with some foam tape.  Classy and quick. Thank you, Vicki!

Return to Blogging!

It has been a busy and adventurous month...just not in my craft room.  I was in Georgia at the start of April to visit a dear friend that I hadn't seen for eight years.  Then the last week I got to attend a special economics conference in Washington, D.C. Travel is very fun!
Last months cards never did get photographed...so I'll do some catching up during May. Tomorrow is my card workshop, and I have some easy CAS cards as part of the mix.  This one uses CTMH Lucy paper, Black and Colonial White card stock, Nestibilities dies, and several butterfly punches - two MS and one EK.  Quick, easy-peasy.  Just what a busy gal needs.
