Sometimes there is just nothing that you can do to help a friend struggling with illness - theirs or a loved one. Except continue to stay in touch, to let them know you care and that you are there if they need you. Crafters send paper hugs. Mine uses mainly Gina K Design products - background script, Bursting Blossoms and a sentiment from the Sending You My Love set.

A wonderful new sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week.
I'm already feeling the pressure to have my Christmas cards ready, and this was an excellent chance to create one with an older set from Gina K Designs, Grand Poinsettia. It's a bundle with embossing folder, dies, and layering stencil. The sentiment die is from Savvy and has been in my stash for a long time. I splattered the back panel with gold, but it's refusing to show up in a photo. Card stock and inks used are Gina K's Cranberry.

My inspiration came from some painted rocks I saw on Pinterest. I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi water colors to create a little scene, then when it was dry doodled some flowers, patterns, and a sentiment with a Micro pen. I used some Fiskars scissors to edge the piece, matted it on black and then put that on a doodled panel and attached to a top fold card.

Inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #759 today as I craft a birthday card for a friend in Japan. I did some light watercolor and then splattered with a more concentrated green. The lotus, an older Altenew set, was inked first in a light ink before coloring with alcohol markers. I do this in my Misti whenever I'm going to use lighter colors to avoid any chance of bleeding. Then after coloring, I inked again in black. I also used some watercolor on a strip of watercolor paper for the sentiment.
How wonderful to find seasonal things in your stash that have been forgotten/neglected for a while. It's like getting new supplies!
This Filmore Tall Curve Border from poppy stamps was cut from some copper matt metallic card. I did some snipping to have it hug the curve on the Gina K oval and used the bits for a little embellishment. The stiped paper is from a Craft Smith pad that was on sale last spring. Sentiment from Gina K Harvest of Happiness set.

I used some papers from a Craft Smith pad that was on sale a while ago and a sentiment from Gina K Designs. The scallop was cut with a border punch, and the banners just free cut. Thanksgiving is really a favorite holiday for me - so many happy family memories and a perfect opportunity to send gratitude to my friends and family.

I dug into my yellow/orange/brown pattern paper folders and found all these fun scraps. I'm loving all the autumn colors right now. They were cut at 1/2" and layered on some Dark Chocolate card stock. Sentiment and banner die from Gina K Designs. I added a little loop of ribbon from my stash.

Here's is this week's sketch at Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge
I need lots of birthday cards for October and November, so my inspiration for this card uses lots of warm autumn colors. The plaid frame was cut with Gina K's Master Layouts 18. The sentiment is from her Flowing Florals set. All the floral and foliage die cuts are from Spellbinder's Hiking Through the Meadows set which was small die of the month Sept23.

I used the branch cover die from papertrey ink and cut the top branch off. The leaves were cut from scraps. The sentiment is from a much older CTMH set, Always Grateful. All these things from my stash. It's so nice to revisit and use those seasonal products!
I masked off the card front and ink blended before adhering the die cuts, and adding a few Copper embellishments from A Colorful Life Designs.
Time for a new challenge at
This sketch really had me on a struggle bus...so many directions and ideas...but I really had fun putting this together. I have two friends with October 31st birthdays - so this has a 'don't be afraid of a birthday' message inside :-) I am trying to get my October birthday cards ready early.
The card used a lot of old things from my stash: spider die from Simon Says Stamp, ghosts from poppystamps.inc and My Favorite Things; pumpkin stamp from an ancient Close To My Heart set that has been a longtime favorite. The 'aperture' ghosts are on foam tape, and I put a pop-up mechanism behind the solid ghost.

Happy Tuesday with a new challenge at
Today I'm using some pretty papers from a long-ago CTMH collection featuring the colors Twilight and Sorbet. My Neutral color is Vanilla. Stitched circle die cuts, a die cut floral image from Altenew, and a very old sentiment from an Avery Elle set, Hugs. I used Altenew's Organic Linen folder to emboss the Vanilla panel. Large and small flowered circles were popped up.
I did try to follow the 3-2-1 recipe at our sister challenge at Double Trouble with some foam tape and embossing twists, but not sure my die-cut floral really counts as an image. But you can certainly check them out and play along!

My inspiration for the new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday The challenge runs from August18-30th.
I used two poppy dies that have been in my stash for many years, and I haven't used them in a long time. The Large Iceland poppy is a layered die from poppystamps.com circa 2015, and I used the stem from Memory Box's Darling Poppies circa 2014 :-) I popped up the bloom for added dimension.
