Watercolor Birthday

Wonderful day crafting with a best buddy. We got so much accomplished, played with new product, and we experimented with techniques, too. ♥

So I used my new Altenew set.  It arrived just before I left for Japan, and I was surprised to see how large an image it is!  I inked it up with Versa fine on some cold press watercolor paper.  I used my Daniel Smith card and my friend's boxed set to watercolor.  I'm am not good at this, but I LOVE doing it.  I used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I was going to put it on a pale gray card base, but my friend said white looked much better. She's smart. I brought it home and wasn't sure about a sentiment ...die cut? heat embossed?  Should have done it at her house while I had access to her inspiration and decisiveness :-) Decided on gold heat embossed with a Paper Trey sentiment. Then I tied gold thread and splattered shimmer watercolor.  I have many splatters on the table...celebrate the mess!

Here it is. I am linking to Watercooler Wednesday "Occasions" challenge.

HUGS

Back in the craft room!  It's been over a month...while I was in Japan I bought some water colors and did some painting. I'll be making some of them into cards soon.

Image may contain: textBut it is with pleasure I return to my Design Team at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  The sketch is #317.  My card will be posted there Wednesday with the rest of the team's inspiration.  You can go there now and link up your card for this sketch!  At least check in and see what some talented crafters are doing.  A sketch design is a great way to get started, and Atlantic Hearts posts one every Monday.

I used an Avery Elle stamp and die set for the sentiment. The flowers are from Fab Flowers, stamps and die set from Lawn Fawn.  All inks are Close to My Heart. The dots were made with the blue ink, and then I added some Nuvo Jewel drops over them for a bit of shine. The blue flowers and sentiment strip are popped with foam tape, as is the panel cut with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle.
