The sketch has an optional theme: birds.  My design team inspiration for you does not use that option as you can see.  But I'm getting in the spirit of fall and that means a little scary is needed. My eyesight tricked me into thinking the inside shape was the whole card, but I'm not starting over.  So just a heads up for you as you create!

I used a Poppy Stamps die, circle dies,  papers from my stash, and sentiments from two CTMH sets long retired but cherished and well used. The little stitched banner is from Gina K Designs. ML5.

There's a new sketch at Sketch Saturday - hope you will join us!

My inspiration for you is a fall card. I ink smooshed a watercolor card scrap with Distress inks on my mat and when it was dry, cut it with a Poppy die Filmore Tall Curve Border. I cut that in half to frame my oval. The bottom panel was embossed with Altenew's Linen folder. I stamped the sentiments with Gina K Designs Absolutely Autumn set.

Allsorts -Spots/Stripes

At Allsorts today it's Week 695 and a challenge from Elllie- 

                                Anything Goes with option for Spots/Stripes. 

 A fun challenge and prizes are dies and tickets to Crafting Live at Peterborough - both from Highlight Crafts.

My inspiration card for you today used a really fun stencil Great Sweeps from A Colorful Life Designs with Distress Oxide inks spritzed with water. The leaf was cut with Tim Holtz Sizzix die, and the sentiment is a Poppy die. Pretty Pink Posh Winter Days confetti. The white back mat was cut with Altenew Mix and Match Frame die. Inside sentiment from Gina K Designs.

Hummingbird

 

Monday morning and a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  

My design team card uses uses some papers from Moda Scrap Spring Flowers collection,  Juniper card stock from CTMH, the Flowers & Leaves 3D embossing folder from Altenew, and paper layering hummingbird die from Hero Arts.  The white card base is Nina Solar white top folding.

I painted a scrap of watercolor card with metallic water colors to give the hummingbird some shimmer. One of my favorite things is watching these little beauties come to the feeder.  The card was very tough to photograph and really looks much nicer in person.

Delightful Blooms

 The latest kit from Gina K Designs included this 4 layer stencil, Delightful Blooms, and new ink cubes. So I tried inking the main floral image and then moved the stencil to add more flowers.  Will do some better masking next time because I really like the look. The stenciled piece was cut down for a mini-slim line size using Master Layout 7.  The colors I used were light, medium, and dark Lilac for flowers and light and medium Spruce for leaves. The sentiment is from Gina K So Many Sentiments set.

Hope is the Thing

 At Try Stampin' On Tuesday there is a new sketch with an optional theme: Inspired by a Book.

My design team inspiration for you uses papers, stencil, inks, stamps, and die from Gina K Designs. I inked the stencil and spritzed with water. When the panel was dry I cut it with the stitched rectangle die and stamped images and sentiment from the Fancy Feathers set.

I did use the optional theme - a book of Poems by Emily Dickinson. I hope you will give the sketch a try!

 

Pink and Gold

 

Good Morning from Sketch Saturday! 

 It's time for a new sketch and I have used some pretty scraps from a Graphic45 paper and my favorite birthday greeting from Gina K Designs Perfect Posy set.  A tiny section from the floral in that set was heat embossed in gold on the dotted side. With a few tiny dots of glue in the center of the roses on the patterned piece, I was able to emboss a bit of gold as well. The thread is from Altenew.

This sketch challenge will be on for two weeks so I hope you will play along!

Hey Pumpkin

 

Good Monday Morning!  Marvelous new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this morning.

Hope you will check it out and play along.  My design team inspiration for you uses some papers from My Favorite Things Creepy Confections, and an image and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Hey Pumpkin set. I colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen and fussy cut the image. Some baker's twine and Nuvo drops finished it off.  You can see the rest of the team inspirations on Wednesday at AHSC.

School Days!

I am host for the new challenge at Allsorts this week - 

Anything Goes with Optional Theme: School Days. A wonderful prize of a Sizzix die will be awarded on Friday - this is a one week challenge.  I hope you will join us at Allsorts.

My design team card will go to my granddaughter on Wednesday as she begins her first day of 2nd grade.  Where does the time go?

I used several older CTMH sets to create a random stamped panel on the left and the sentiment banner. I stamped the little girl using a set from My Favorite Things and colored with Copics.  The stamp has her perched on a tower of books and I cut it off to accommodate the design - which is this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Notebook paper on the right panel and black with white pigment ink for the 'black board.'
