A friend like you

Monday means a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

I just love this sentiment from Gina K's Bitty Botanicals set, and I've surrounded it with die cuts from Altenew's Create a wreath die set. I used a white gel pen on the terracotta leaves to have them match the patterned paper.  Papers are from retired CTMH's Pathfinding collection.

I look forward to visiting you to see what you've created with this week's sketch. Use the link above to AHSC to join this week's challenge.

Orange Thanks

I missed the deadline for this color challenge, but really wanted to give it a try. Orange. Wow. That is a color I don't use a lot and I don't think I've ever made a card with only orange. The challenge was at a new to me blog called Make the Cards, a weekly that posts new challenges on Wednesdays.

I used a Brutus Monroe mixed media stencil on the card front and also on the envelope flap.  This ink blending colors were Distress inks - Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, and Crackling Campfire.

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant. I cut it twice for some dimension and curved it around the pumpkin when I adhered it.  The pumpkin is from Gina K and was colored with alcohol markers, fussy cut and popped up with foam tape.

Simple, bright, fun.

Sparkle

Some issues with my old lap top. Fear today may be a shopping day for an update.

But here is my card for Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch #531.  Made with things from my stash - embossing folder, snowflake die cuts, a circle cut from a foam pressed background, and some little sparkle with sequins and ribbon.

Birthday Print

Still making cards with my stamping foam backgrounds!  This one crated by pressing the foam on some metal embellishments from my stash and inking in blues and a green . The flags were cut with MFT dies. The sentiment is a Poppy die.  Paper Gina K Blue Denim.

Inspired by sketch #631 at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Winter Snow

More fun playing with my stamping foam today.  This background was made by pressing foam into my three snowflake dies and inking up with several blues from Altenew's Lapis Lazuli set. I misted with water and got some lovely effects. The sentiment from SSS CZ Clean Line Christmas was heat embossed with white. Panel and sentiment strip cut using Gina K ML2. The holographic snowflake embellishments from my stash look silver or icy blue as you hold the card in the light.  I used the Freshly Made sketch from yesterday's post again.

Peace*Love*Joy

Happy to be able to take a break from big holiday projects and get creative with this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I missed the timing for #509 but as is often the case, I used the sketch for a card and it was a top pick for Little Red Wagon.

This week I'm on it!

After watching another video about using Simon Hurley foam today, I heated mine up and made an impression of the brick facing on my fireplace. Inked with a light grey ink to make my rectangle panel, it looked like a snow flurry to me.  The pine was die cut with a Flora and Fauna die. The berry branch stamped in Cocoa and cut with Gina K's Perfect Poinsettia kit; sentiment stamped in Christmas Pine from Gina's set of the same name. I added red Nuvo drops to the berries.

Sketch Saturday #685

This week's sketch challenged me...I've been in a bit of a creative slump lately anyhow.    But this lovely paper in my origami box and some matching embellishments just caught my eye.  The sentiment  was heat embossed in white.      Find the link at Sketch Saturday and share your take on this week's challenge!
