Atlantic Hearts #391

My Design Team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #391.  I was planning a Thanksgiving card for this since I am deep into getting those done, but needed a birthday card for a P.E.O. sister.  Our logo is a daisy, so I try to incorporate them in the cards sent to them.  This whimsical paper was in the recent Simon Says Stamp monthly kit and went nicely with an older Close to My Heart set I use a lot and ♥  The flower centers were colored with Altenew artist markers and shimmered up with the sparkle pen. The die cut sentiment is from Poppy

The challenge begins today, and closed October 25, 2020.  Play along!!

So Grateful

My favorite crafting is in fall. I adore the colors of autumn and my favorite holiday has always been Thanksgiving. I send at least 25 Thanksgiving cards each year.

This card used Freshly Made sketch #457 as inspiration, some Distress Oxide ink blending, Simon Says Oak leaf from last year's release, lovely plaid paper from Authentique I snagged from the sale bin at my craft store this morning, and linen navy card stock.  I heat embossed the sentiment -from a very old CTMH set- in Copper embossing powder.

Beary Happy Birthday

Having some coloring fun with Simon Says Stamp Happy Fall Y'all set! I stamped with Simon's Intense Black ink, colored with Altenew Artist Markers and fussy cut images. Patterned gingham is from my CTMH stash.  My BFF's hubby is a big teddy bear of a guy and we had a sidewalk surprise party for him- the Happy Birthday sentiment is  inside.

Glossy accents on eyes and nose. White gel pen highlights.

Sketch Saturday #631

I am so excited to join the Design Team at Sketch Saturday!!

This is a fun weekly sketch challenge sponsored by Riley & Co.  I am excited to order some of their adorable stamps.  If you love snappy sentiments, you really must check this company out!  And play along with the sketches and perhaps win a Riley & Co. gift yourself.

I 'smooshed' watercolor, stamped a leaf (from a Hampton Art set) with Chocolate ink on the dry watercolor and die cut.  The patterned paper is from my stash. The dark brown front panel is Simon Says Stamp card stock on a cream top folding card base. I used the wood grain embossing folder and Mocha pearl embellishments that are CTMH. I left it without a sentiment for now - it can be a fall notecard or perhaps I will use a Thanksgiving stamp inside.

Hey, Pumpkin

This week's new sketch #389 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has lots of versatility for any type of theme.  I have parts of two other cards on my craft table using this sketch - one Halloween and another with a floral element.   Get crafty and head on over to AHSC and share your creativity!  You can check in with them on Wednesday for this card and the rest of the Design Team inspiration.

I used CTMH papers and embellishments from my stash, embossed the back panel with the pumpkin stencil from Carta Bella, and the images and sentiments are from the new Simon Says Stamp set "Happy Fall, Y'all.  Colored them with Altenew artist markers. You can click on the image for a close up view as it's difficult to show the subtle dimension of the pumpkins in the photo.

Coffee

Used one of my old favorites for this challenge at AAA Cards.  All my friends know I consume a full pot of coffee every morning...and exercise is never my first activity choice!  So this sentiment is my mantra.

Mildred (Bugaboo digital) was colored with pencils, her glasses have Glossy Accents, and a hallo of distress ink.  I created a mask from a plain paper print and tried using Pixie spray to hold it in place. It worked perfectly! I would have loved to do Copic coloring but didn't want the bleed on a one-layer.

AHSC #387

This week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. This is my Design Team inspiration card for challenge #387.  It will post on the AHSC blog Wednesday, but don't wait until then. Check out the sketch, get crafty, and link up your card.

I had an idea in my mind about this card but it was a real struggle to get it to work...I nearly gave up. But I stuck with it.  I masked off the corner and applied water color and Nuvo Shimmer powder to the water color card stock. Once it was dry I cut the Birch Press Prism Triangle die from the upper left corner. This is when things began to fall apart :-)   In the end I had to trim out the triangle and adhere it to the bronze shimmer paper. The sentiment was heat embossed with Ranger  Copper embossing powder, and a trio of copper sequins finished it.  The design reminds me of my travels in Morocco - so I photographed it on a tray from there and some sand from my adventure in the desert. The second photo shows the beautiful shine that comes through.
