Sketch Saturday #633

Good Morning weekend crafters!!  I am thrilled to be able to share my Design Team card for this week at Sketch Saturday sponsored by  Riley & Co. The pandemic has kept me from my other retirement love: travel.  Eight countries visited in the six years since my retirement from teaching...I long for the world to be well again so I can see some more of it. ♥  Until then, I journey through my paper stash.  This card, inspired by this sketch, uses some great BoBunny paper, a sentiment die from Memory Box, a sentiment strip from Tim Holtz, and metal elements from my CTMH stash box.

The sketch challenge runs October 24-30th.

Cozy Corner

I have been so busy with various projects that I forgot to post this card!  It was under some papers, and had been waiting for a photo.  I made it with a retired CTMH set, Welcome Home.  I stamped with dye inks and then shaded and added color with pencils.

There are some really beautiful cards posted here at AAA Card Challenge by the design team and many participants. A brand new two-week challenge will begin Sunday, Oct. 25th

Tuesday Morning Birthday

Tuesday Morning Sketch # 577 became a birthday card for me. I used a tag for the rectangle panel and sentiment die cut from gold card stock. Both dies are from Poppy.  The roses are the recent mini set from Altenew that were heat embossed in gold and colored with artist markers.

This is a great sketch for using left over strips of paper or washi tape.  The challenge runs until Oct.25th

Atlantic Hearts #391

My Design Team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #391.  I was planning a Thanksgiving card for this since I am deep into getting those done, but needed a birthday card for a P.E.O. sister.  Our logo is a daisy, so I try to incorporate them in the cards sent to them.  This whimsical paper was in the recent Simon Says Stamp monthly kit and went nicely with an older Close to My Heart set I use a lot and ♥  The flower centers were colored with Altenew artist markers and shimmered up with the sparkle pen. The die cut sentiment is from Poppy

The challenge begins today, and closed October 25, 2020.  Play along!!

So Grateful

My favorite crafting is in fall. I adore the colors of autumn and my favorite holiday has always been Thanksgiving. I send at least 25 Thanksgiving cards each year.

This card used Freshly Made sketch #457 as inspiration, some Distress Oxide ink blending, Simon Says Oak leaf from last year's release, lovely plaid paper from Authentique I snagged from the sale bin at my craft store this morning, and linen navy card stock.  I heat embossed the sentiment -from a very old CTMH set- in Copper embossing powder.

Beary Happy Birthday

Having some coloring fun with Simon Says Stamp Happy Fall Y'all set! I stamped with Simon's Intense Black ink, colored with Altenew Artist Markers and fussy cut images. Patterned gingham is from my CTMH stash.  My BFF's hubby is a big teddy bear of a guy and we had a sidewalk surprise party for him- the Happy Birthday sentiment is  inside.

Glossy accents on eyes and nose. White gel pen highlights.

Sketch Saturday #631

I am so excited to join the Design Team at Sketch Saturday!!

This is a fun weekly sketch challenge sponsored by Riley & Co.  I am excited to order some of their adorable stamps.  If you love snappy sentiments, you really must check this company out!  And play along with the sketches and perhaps win a Riley & Co. gift yourself.

I 'smooshed' watercolor, stamped a leaf (from a Hampton Art set) with Chocolate ink on the dry watercolor and die cut.  The patterned paper is from my stash. The dark brown front panel is Simon Says Stamp card stock on a cream top folding card base. I used the wood grain embossing folder and Mocha pearl embellishments that are CTMH. I left it without a sentiment for now - it can be a fall notecard or perhaps I will use a Thanksgiving stamp inside.
