Have a Heart

Using up some patterned paper from my Valentine scrap folder today - inspired by challenge #663 at                                     Try A Sketch On Tuesday.

The big hearts and sentiment are Gina K Designs Love Trio and Master Layouts 4 dies.  The small 'talkie' heart was fussy cut and stamped and heat embossed with a sentiment from a very old CTMH wooden set.

You will find some amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team at TSOT.  ~and ~ please check out our sister challenge  Double Trouble. Check out their 3-2-1 recipe below.

Hope you will play along!

My card also inspired by Tic Tac Toe challenge 263 where I have used the top row of hearts-designer papers-love sentiment

White on White

Sympathy cards are the most difficult to make for me. My card today uses a white on white design inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #671 and Double d Challenge.

I embossed with a folder called Whimsy and made horizontal strips with a Stampin' Up border punch and thin piece of silver card. The Gina K Designs sentiment was foiled with silver.

Ocean Thoughts

Thinking a lot about of my brother - my visits to him each year on Cape Cod. Making plans to bring my grandchildren there this year has me thinking of the many happy beach memories.

My card uses Seashell Swirls stencil from Brutus Monroe and a sentiment from Gina K Designs set, Delicate Dahlias.

Sending Love

My Design Team card for #612

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I used some papers from a Paper Studio 6x6 collection. The blue card stock, die cuts and sentiment from Gina K Designs.

I just love sketches like this that can use some pretty papers and come together so quickly.

Hoping to see your take on this sketch on the AHSC blog!

Arigato

My oldest son has lived in Japan for over 15 years now, and I have been fortunate to have travelled there five times and stay for extended periods.  In 2024 I went twice and stayed over a month each time!   So many beautiful places to visit and people to meet.  It is also a fun place to shop - my favorite being stationary. My collection of beautiful Japanese paper is extensive!

This sweet paper doll die set is one I've had for over ten years - the packaging says Frantic Stamper Inc.   - and I love creating pretty yukata from the papers.

The new challenge at Try A Sketch On Tuesday is a wonderful design that was perfect for showcasing my paper and creating a thank you note.

I hope you will join the challenge. And check out our sister challenge Double Trouble for even more inspiration!

Things I Love About You

Thoughts of Spring

Playing with my new Kuretake water colors and decided to try a take on Freshly Made Sketches 668.  I added some stamping on top with an AALL & Create set.  The color is pale (several others more vibrant are in the bin), but I like the palest of pink, orange and green which was inspired by The Paper Players color challenge this week.

Leaves

This smoosh, spatter, emboss technique is one I've wanted to make for a while. Some color ideas and stamp sets have been on my table since before Christmas.  The new sketch at Atlantic Hearts inspired me to finally try it.

It was a bit messy, and I abandoned the first try, changed the colors and tried again. My intention was to cut vertical rectangles and mat with gold, but I realized my images were too large so I decided to take a bit of artistic liberty with the sketch.

Materials: Bristol paper; Be Kind stamp + die SSS; sentiment from Gina K Botanical Leaves set; Spellbinders Sweater Weather embossing folder; Distress Oxide inks; CTMH Juniper card stock; Brutus Monroe gilded embossing powder.

Hope you will join us this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

Freesia

Reorganizing some stamps today and just wanted to color this. It's one of my favorites from Altenew, Fresh Freesia.  I did a partial die cut and colored with Artist Markers: Y512, Y514, Y608, G915, G935.  The inside panel on the right is a dark chocolate that I think was Simon Says Stamp card. The sentiment is from the same Freesia set and stamped in CTMH Chocolate ink. I was inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #551

Bee Happy

My card was inspired by Sketch Saturday #767 - and I used the option of stripes with some pretty papers from Bees, the Paper Studio. The card stock is Gina K Blue Denim, and the sentiment from Gina K So Many Sentiments set. The stitched squares are from MFT.

Hello There

This intricate butterfly is from Gina K Designs Beautiful Butterflies 3 and was stamped on a Distress Oxide blend inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.

Black White & Grey

Loving one of my newer Spellbinder layered stencils!

When I saw the challenge at Color Throwdown, I thought immediately of this, and it makes a fun masculine card.

I used Gina K Soft Stone, Stormy Sky, and Black inks, and did another layer with residual ink for an additional grey tone.  The thought bubble is My Favorite Things with a Lawn Fawn stamp +die set I've had for a very long time. Embellishments are Spellbinders Fashion Jet dots.

Best Birthday Ever!

Lots of fun new challenges and my Mojo feels like it is in recovery.

One great challenge is celebrating 9th years and my card to join in used a very fun card fold design from Simply Simple Stamping. It's really a cute surprise pop-up that stands up nicely and you can write a message on the back.

I used some old papers from my stash and a floral die cut, Daisies and Leaves from Simon Says Stamp. Card stock and sentiment from Gina K.

I Like You!

2025 begins with a new sketch at

Try A Sketch On Tuesday and a little extra challenge pairing up with our sister challenge Double Trouble - I've included some 'warm & cuddly' -layers- and, of course, used the new sketch for TSOT.

My DT inspiration card uses images and a sentiment from Gina K Designs You are So Loved set, an older embossing folder from CTMH and a new stencil from Spellbinders called Two Way Heart. I only used one of the stencil layers for my background.  The images were colored with pencil and Gamsol and I gave the two hearts a sparkle with a shimmer pen.

Please check out the great inspiration at both TSOT and DT and play along! TSOT will be having a new challenge every two weeks, and Double Trouble has some new twists this year as well.

Watt's Up?

My inspiration today comes from AAA Cards Challenge #280

I used some Masking Magic to create the color block and ink blended.  Then stamped the images and sentiment from Gina K Designs Watt's Up set.  I used some shimmer pen inside the lightbulbs for a little sparkle.
