Nikka's Weekend Challenge Tinkerin' Box

Nikka Geers ( http://www.nikkageers.blogspot.com/) posted sketch challenge #4- to use on something NOT a card, and when I saw it I thought "That's it! Just how I'll do my grandson's memory box." I've had the paper and box for two months....thank you Nikki for the inspiration! I went right up to the card cave and made it.

I have made so many of these boxes, but this was the easiest - Nikki's sketch, new spray adhesive, all CTMH Stickease....way cool. Now I need to make the other box - using Stardust paper.

It's been a marvelous day. Count it good when I get my house cleaning chores done, garden enough to get really dirty, AND craft all in the same day :)

Off to the wedding tomorrow - so enjoy the rest of your weekend, and thanks for visiting.

Veranda Wedding

Nephew's wedding tomorrow and this will be my card. Not a guy card, I'm afraid...but the bride and my dear SIL will like it.

CTMH products used: Veranda papers; creme brulee and juniper CS and inks; white daisy blooms; pearls (hope they will be in the new fall CTMH catalog); creme brulee ribbon; Heartfelt, Endless Love and Veranda WOTG stamp sets.

Vintage Thoughts

Sometimes I just like to color...fun and therapy both perhaps. I always have loved pansies. CTMH had one that was one of my earliest wood stamps that I used so much. Pansies allow the use of my favorite color combination - purple and olive. So, I had a wonderful time making this card! In my happy place....

CTMH products used: Colonial white, olive, pansy purple cs; pansy purple, olive, betturcup inks; autumn harvest organdy ribbon (ret. I think); Card Kit/Just Because for the senitment; foam mounting tape.

Others: digital pansy Image from Bugaboo stamps; Cuttlebug 'Leafy Branch' folder, Martha Stewart punch, lace from J's, and 'vintage photo' Distress Ink.

A Notebook notebook

This is an idea from Joanne Walton and my upline Renae McBarron. Renae and I had a fabulous time at the Portland Regional, and saw a notebook of Joanne's while we were there. Renae made one with Topstitch papers, and I have made two. One with Bella and this one with Notebook. Once you cut all the paper it is very easy to put together because it uses CTMH "My Stickease" sheets for embellishment. I added some Memory Proector Flip Flaps to increase the photo holding capability.
products used: CTMH 3-ring binder, Notebook Level 2 pp and Stickease, Assorted ribbons, and Memory Flip Flaps.

It has been a sunny day...but I spent it cleaning the closet and then working on my audit syllabus for AP Government... a daunting task best begun early. This will be a new class for me in the fall and I have a lot to learn. Tomorrow I get to babysit for a little while for my youngest grandson (18 months). That will be much more fun than government!

Thank you for visiting and special thanks for the very kind people who have left comments.

The sun is shining!

My family in Massachusetts has been writing about beach days at Cape Cod...it was pouring here when I started this card to send to them, and when I went up to finish it today, the sun broke through. Not a beach day yet, but much more promising.

I saw this little beach bag on the Hero Arts idea page, and knew I had to try one. It's made with Caboodle paper, crystal blue + sorbet CS, and piece of textured desert sand torn + sanded(CTMH). I used a 3" scalloped punch to make the umbrella tied with a bit of waxy flax, and a SU! small oval punch for the flip flops. Those little sunglasses are an old B size woodie saved from the old days, and I put liquid glass on them...not sure it shows in the picture, but looks really cute IRL.

Hope the sun is shining where you are today!

Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge

This color challenge was fun to try!

I had a little difficulty lining up those cut out circles...and the finished card doesn't really look like what I started out to do...and my craft table looks like a tornado hit...but it was a challenge after all!
Close To My Heart products used- black, tulip, white daisy, buttercup CS and inks, flower made with a retired Buttercup B+T. Stamp sets: Tasty Treats D1427, Connections D1330, A Posy A1102; Black collection ribbon rounds Z1034; 1 1/4" punch Z1311. EK 1 1/2" plain and scalloped punches also.

Summer party time...

If the sun would shine, that is! Hard to believe tomorrow will be summer when we have 60 degrees and rain most days. Pacific Northwest season.

Well, it was a good day nonetheless.

A really wonderful student gave me a thank you gift of gorgeous origami papers, and I was inspired by lantern cards seen on the Impress website...so I created these two cards using the CTMH stamp set Apirations (one of my favorites), sorbet CS and ink. I ran the origami paper through my crimper and then used a punch to make the shapes.

Just an experiment, but they look festive.

Rainy days are an excellent excuse for baking and stamping. Thank you for visiting!
